An area that changed flags several times in the 20th century, Eastern Poland consists of Podlaskie, Lublin and Subcarpathian Voivodships (Provinces). The largest cities in each are Bialystok, Lublin and Zamosc respectively. The Masurian Lake District in the northeast includes Wigry National Park and Lake Hancza, the deepest lake in Poland. Bialowieza National Park, on the Belarusian border, protects one of the last remaining sections of a huge primeval forest that once covered Eastern Europe.

We’re Mark,and Oliwia, a Polish-British couple. We have moved to Białowieża Forest in 2018 but known the area for over 15 years as this is where Oliwia’s family come from. We are extremely fortunate to call Bialowieza Forest our home and we’re keen to share our passion with visitors to the area. There is a private-owned wineyard and the hosts offer a glass (or a bottle if you prefer) of wine (red/white/rose) for a reasonable price having in mind a hand-made wine production as well as small volume of wines produced. There are no seats nor tables yet, but I loved to have a glass of white and to talk to the owners. Lovely place, lovely owners. I/ll be back to Janowiec Wineyard surely.
