10 Flea & Street Markets in Prague That You Shouldn't Miss

January 21, 2022 Timmy Ribble

The bohemian allure and fairytale features of Prague make it a perfect destination for beach-weary vacationers who want to immerse themselves in culture. You could devote an entire day to exploring Prazsky hrad (Prague Castle), then refueling over a hearty dinner at a classic Czech tavern. Spend some time wandering the Old Town Square before heading over to gape at The Old Town Hall and Astronomical Clock. Prague’s best bars are found in cellars, where historic pubs set the scene for a night of traditional tippling.

Following the example of the European metropolises, finally, a place for art lovers is opened in Prague! At the end of Pařížská Street, next to the Intercontinental Hotel, every last weekend of the month, a live, cultural and artistic open-air zone is created, combining different artistic directions. From the art of contemporary young artists represented by major galleries through antique dealers. If you are looking for something new and original, you will find new design pieces, pictures, sculptures, photographs, vintage, fresh-cut fashion, etc. All of this, against the backdrop of live performances by artists, lighting and film screenings or chamber literary reading. Everything at the sound of DJs and live musicians. Come and get inspired to help us turn Pařížská Street into our place! As spokeswoman Olda Pařízek says - Huray Paris and Pařížská street artists!

We went in a party of 8 after work and it was a great choice. There is so much delicious choices of food - from fresh pasta, soups to texmex, vietfood, seafood you name it. Cashless payment makes it quick and easy, no queues forming. Hot drinks are a little pricier than your ordinary "svařák" but worth it. You can book seats in large plastic igloos (up to 8 persons fit in) equipped with chairs with blankets around a table, a little heater and fresh pine-tree branches decorations adding beautiful forest scent to the tent. Nevertheless this option will be best in wet weather, otherwise it's easier to stroll around the stalls and consume outdoors under heating lamps.

The prices of souvenirs at this market were amazing and from other shops I have visited across Prague, they were unbeatable. Fridge magnets cost about £0.70 equivalent for example. Do not look else where, could not recommend highly enough. Such a high variety of gifts from chocolate to paintings. There are gifts for everyone.
