Khlong Toei Market

One of Bangkok’s best-kept secrets is Khlong Toey, a chaotic, sprawling food market not far from the city’s centre. It’s a travel photographer’s dream, packed with shouting market vendors offering live produce, fresh fruit and vegetables and cooked local dishes. Eye-opening and enthralling, it’s a great insight into how locals live – and to where your moo manow really comes from.

Ate here several times during our stay in Bangkok, it’s well worth looking for the indoor street food stalls, look for lots of tables in rows with blue plastic table cloths, lots of Thai people eat here which is a really good sign. If you are new to a Thai street food don’t be put off by the basic nature of the surroundings; the stalls have pictures and they mainly have the title of the dish in English, but you can just point at the picture of what you fancy, the stall holder will advise if you need rice as a side dish, but you always check. Most of the stall holders we went to spoke enough English to tell you if the dish was hot or not hot. All the stalls we tried were great, but at the end furthest from the main entrance there was a lovely family stall where the lady wears an apron and chefs cap style hat! We went to her stall twice at the start of our two week visit in Thailand, and she remembered us when we returned on our last day, greeting us like old friends! You can sit anywhere so it’s ok to get different food from different stalls, you can take your own water with you from the supermarket, or you can get beer, fresh coconut and some soft drinks from stalls near the entrance of the market! Would highly recommend it!

Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market

Reviewed By Rutger12345

We visited this floating market from Bangkok on a Saturday. The drive took about 20 minutes using the Grab app (210 - 300 baht one way). The best thing about Grab is that the driver knows exactly where you want to go. We did a 40-minute boat tour on a traditional longtail, 100 baht. Very nice scenery, plants and houses along the water. A few boats selling food. The best thing about this market for us was the actual (dry) market, which was humongous! Few tourists in the deeper layers of the market (just walk along the canal/pier and you’ll get there quickly), lots and lots of wonderful food! Enjoyed the karaoke of Thai people during a fish pedicure. Very very happy we went to this market. Enjoy!

Soi Rambuttri is more like what Khao San was decades ago: lots cool shops, eating joints, guest houses and relaxed drinking spots. Throw in street vendors and massage and it has it all. For now, at least, authorities haven't ruined it with over regulation and "renovation".

We found this night market because there is special eatery spot with performance by sexy Thai guys. Signboard in Thai but you will be easily find it if you hear loud music with guys shouting or ‘ moaning’???? Well the restaurant served limited seafoods but you can order western foods from another stall. Price is reasonable and you can enjoyed the sexy dance show with sexy dancers next with you. Other than that, there are many interesting stalls you able to shop with cheaper price compared with city. Huamum market away from city centre about 30mins drive so tourists is lesser, foods and shopping also cheaper. This market worth to visit compared with other night markets in Bangkok. Recommend this night market for those couple or friends in group who wish to see other different.
