Victoria Harbour Ferry's boats provide the best view of Victoria...From the ocean! Take a Harbour Tour, historic Gorge Waterway Cruise, or hop on an H2O Water Taxi as you explore inner harbour destinations. Visit us on the dock in front of the Empress Hotel. From there, a VHF Captain can take you to Victoria's best-kept secret: Fisherman's Wharf! Feed the seals, grab some lunch from Barb's Fish and Chips, check out the funky float homes, go for a whale-watching or kayak adventure with Eagle Wing or Kelp Reef, and pick up an ice cream cone from Jackson's on the way back into town! We have something for everyone...Including the Pickle Pub Crawl! Come down anytime to pick up a wristband, which you can use for four harbour ferry rides to "hop" from one harbour brewpub to another. Plus, groups of four or more get free appetizers at each location! So much to do, and so much to see...Victoria Harbour Ferry!

All around good. They took us to Meares for a hike - and while the hike was a bit of a disappointment, the boat ride from Tofino and back was a highlight. Such amazing scenery. Both operators we had were super friendly and arrived exactly on time.

We took this route in both directions two weeks apart, and from staff handling our arrival in the boarding queue to wait help in the comfortable restaurant on board the Northern Expedition, every BC Ferries employee we encountered was cheerful and helpful. The passenger lounges were clean and bright and the views were fantastic. The outdoor salmon BBQ was a nice touch and was very popular. We had a cabin on the return voyage and it was super clean and comfy. Just a great trip!

Used these to travel from Horseshoe Bay to Discovery Cove, and back. Ferries run to time, getting your car on and off was well organised and quick. Nice food and drink on board, reasonably priced.

We lived on the island a few times, so I would say we have experience traveling with BC Ferries, we have shopped in their gift shops, enjoyed Starbucks coffee from the coffee shop, and White Spot in their self serve restaurant. The last two times we have traveled to the island and back, was during Covid-19, so we stayed in our vehicle all four times. They squeezed us on as the last vehicle the last time we traveled, what a great feeling that was.

We made reservations a week before travelling and had no problems. Online reservation system is easy to use and it is only $8 more for peace of mind. There is a small cafeteria, small giftshop, and duty free shop. I loved the safety announcement it is like an old time 1950's throw back and as soon as the music plays you see people smiling and bopping to the music. Hilarious!

BC Ferries are the best form of transport to get from the mainland to places on Vancouver Island. We did the sailing from Horseshoe Bay, Vancouver, to Departure Bay at Nanaimo and back thrice during our stay in British Columbia and quite enjoyed the experience every time. Foot passengers do not need to book in advance and can simply walk on after buying the ticket at the terminal. Oversize luggage can be checked in before boarding with no extra charges. Vehicles generally have to be booked in advance and there is a long queue of cars waiting to board the ferry. Once on board we relaxed in the comfortable chairs on the Level 5 or 6 decks and enjoyed the views from the broad glass windows. One can go up to the sun deck for better views and the cold breeze in your hair, and one can take better pictures from there. Refreshments are readily available on the ferries, and the regular passengers would rush to queue up for the tasty meals on board. One can buy a hot meal as listed on the menu or simply go for the snacks like muffins, pastries or chips in the racks. Cold drinks, tea and coffee are available on tap. Washrooms are clean and well stocked with liquid soap, tissue and napkins. There are some work stations, kids playroom, gift and souvenir shop and racks from where you can pick up free tourist literature. We always enjoyed the cool and relaxed ferry rides. It takes about an hour and a half to get across the Strait of Georgia. The ferries are generally on time and the walk-on tickets cost about $18.
