Yorkshire (/ˈjɔːrkʃər, -ʃɪər/; abbreviated Yorks), formally known as the County of York, is a historic county of Northern England and the largest in the United Kingdom. Due to its great size in comparison to other English counties, functions have been undertaken over time by its subdivisions, which have also been subject to periodic reform. Throughout these changes, Yorkshire has continued to be recognised as a geographical territory and cultural region. The name is familiar and well understood across the United Kingdom and is in common use in the media and the military, and also features in the titles of current areas of civil administration such as North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and East Riding of Yorkshire.

A unique interactive fun activity, based on a family working farm in Nidderdale. Offering Llama Trekking & Llama/alpaca experiences in beautiful countryside. Fantastic fun with amazing friendly animals, a range of options to choose from all including close contact with llamas, alpacas and some other animals.
This was a surprise Birthday treat and it didn't disappoint! We spent a lovely afternoon getting to know all about Llamas and Alpacas. We were able to interact with the animals in a safe environment before heading out for a walk with them. The Llamas were very calm and terrific walking companions. Even though the Yorkshire weather was atrocious it didn't dampen the spirits of the group. The staff were brilliant and very knowledgable about the animals and their different characters. We were each " matched" with a Llama and got to know them as we walked out on our short trek. After the trek we warmed up with tea and cake, a nice touch. This has been the highlight of our week in beautiful Yorkshire and would thoroughly recommend.

Thrussendale Farm is a destination. Set amidst some of the most outstandingly beautiful scenery on the edge of the Wolds in North Yorkshire. It's a pedigree Aberdeen Angus bull breeding farm, somewhere for Corporate business to escape to for Executive and Senior Management Meetings, somewhere different. Somewhere with 'Wow' factor, a place to turn ideas into reality, to motivate and energise your teams and somewhere to relax and have fun afterwards. It's a magical destination that never fails to capture the heart and fill the senses with inspiration. The farm also hosts exclusive wild camping and motorhome pitches which are totally at one with nature. No ordinary place to pitch your tent or park your home on wheels - but somewhere to stay inside nature and to be totally surrounded by it. You might not even see another visitor throughout your stay. Our one aim, apart from breeding high health / welfare Aberdeen Angus cattle, is that your stay will encourage you to want to return.

Excellent for younger children and know ds who like animals, to free to go round, although they are asking for donations that go towards food and animal care. When you finish in there, just a bit further down the road there's several shops to visit if you want

Destination to visit and tourist attraction with many amenities. The site is free to visit and has a cafe, boutique shops, animals to feed, garden centre, picnic areas and more! The area offers lots of stunning walks and cycle trails and Pot House Hamlet has free car parking allowing you to explore the area at your leisure.
Proving a firm favourite with us to treat ourselves, when possible, to lunch here when the dog is at the Groomers on the same site. On this occasion we scanned in and were offered a choice of two tables, as we were going to have paninis and coffees for lunch we went for table by the wood burning stove tucked away to one side, as other than a staff member top the stove up with wood twice we didn't have anyone walking past us. Track and trace had only recently come in with QR codes to be scanned on arrival. Easily done and no issues though. I had the steak and brie hot sandwich and it was very very nice !! Equally my daughters lunch with the hand cut chips was good - I was partial to stealing a few chips as they were amazing !! Then we just sat there with a coffee, no rush, until the groomer called my mobile phone to say our dog was ready for collection. There are other shops you could browse here too and a small petting area with animals popular with children, lovely place to stop off.....be warned the cafe does get busy ...one day I might get around to trying the tempting looking cake ! Note - Dogs are allowed inside too !!! In the summer there are often tables outdoors too, but once into autumn mostly indoors.

Visited today for the first time and had a lovely day. I wasn't sure whether there'd be enough to do for my children aged 10 and 12 but they absolutely loved it, they did the pony brushing and goat feeding (my eldest daughter was particularly pleased as one of the goats had the same name as her!) had fun on the go karts, followed the tortoises around and fell in love with all the other animals - they wanted to take the calves and guinea pigs home! They were lucky enough to feed the calves, which was a lovely end to the day. The farm was spotless with plenty of hand sanitizers and sinks for washing hands, animals are very well cared for and staff were really friendly, we loved it!

Great place to take young children, staff were very friendly and enthusiastic throughout the tour and the visit allowing children to get hands on with the animals and encouraging involvement. The addition of use of the soft play after and cafe made it that much better. Recommend to anyone wanting to take their young ones out for a good couple of hours.
