10 Farmers Markets in West Virginia That You Shouldn't Miss

October 29, 2021 Augustus Redeker

As you would expect, The Mountain State displays rustic charm with dramatic river gorges, large limestone caverns and spectacular mountain views. West Virginia hosts outdoor enthusiasts and family vacationers looking for fresh-air activities and serene mountain atmosphere. If stimulating city holidays are your preference, Charleston combines warm hospitality with a lovely riverside location. A family-friendly destination, you’ll discover children’s theatre, river park recreation and popular Bridge Road for shopping and dining. Smaller towns blend outdoor adventure with quaint village atmospheres. Set between the New, Greenbrier and Bluestone Rivers, Hinton is an historic rail town filled with turn-of-the-century architecture and a host of water activities at its doorstep – rafting, fishing, kayaking and more. In the heart of West Virginia, Summersville is a “Mountain Water Playground.” Its lakeside location encourages outdoor recreation from swimming and boating to scuba diving and rafting. And history buffs can trace Civil War battles throughout the states historic sites and state parks. Hiking or horseback riding along trails through deep hardwood forests is another family favorite, especially when you stop for a picnic along a clear mountain stream.

"HAPPINESS GROWS HERE!" If you are looking for a neighborhood farm market, you must stop by Orr's Farm Market. A family owned farm...we offer great in season fruits and veggies, as well as Pick-Your-Own on some crops. Our market has a nice selection of jams and specialty food products as well. Best pumpkin patch I’ve been to. The patch is so big so there are lots of pumpkins to choose from, and the food at the farmer’s market is always AMAZING. There is also a play area for kids, a corn maze, hayrides to and from the patch, and a barnyard with all kinds of adorable animals!! Staff is incredibly friendly and it’s always such a great experience. It’s fairly inexpensive too, the most expensive wrist band is $10 and gets you access to the whole farm and activities, plus a free large pumpkin! My fiancé had a great time here today.

Taylor's Farm Market

Welcome to the area's newest Farm Market. We invite you to come check out what everyone has been talking about! We carry many West Virginia wines, local honey, different jams and jellies, apple butter, sauces from Oliverio’s Peppers in Clarksburg—in fact, we're so local that some of the honey we will be selling are from the bees that were in our apple orchard for pollinating earlier this spring!
