Colorado is home to no less than twenty-six ski resorts such as those in Vail and Breckenridge; other winter activities include snowboarding, sledding, sleigh rides, snow hiking and snowmobiling. The state is blessed with national parks, grasslands and forests where in warmer weather you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking or rock climbing. Wildlife abounds, from bears to moose and raccoons to wolverines. More interested in local history? Head for either the Ute Indian Museum or the Koshare Indian Museum, and don't miss the forts such as Fort Garland and Bent's Old Fort. For a complete change, why not take a ride in a hot air balloon from South Park Valley or Boulder and admire Colorado's picturesque landscape from above?

But exactly what is a whiskey house? To us it’s a place dedicated to whiskey, a temple of sorts, a place to come and explore your passion for whiskey. Make no mistake about it, Laws Whiskey House is a distillery, but more than that it is where we can educate and share everything we know and love about whiskey.

A ton of fun! Our tour guide David gave an in-depth overview into the distillation process of Stranahan’s single malt whiskey as well as the history of the brand. We also learned about bottling and how the barrels are made. We were provided three different tastings and you get to keep the free tasting glass as well as a nice discount on bottles you purchase at the distillery. I would highly recommend if you are a whiskey lover!

Almost 150 years after Colorado was the 38th state admitted to the union, State 38 Distilling was established to celebrate the western beauty that is Colorado by hand crafting small batch spirits using only organic ingredients and crisp rocky mountain water, forging quality spirits by getting back to basics. We ONLY use Fair Trade 100% Organic Raw Blue Agave and Hand-Milled Grains as the bases for all our spirits.

Enjoy a tour of our grain to glass distillery located on Main Avenue in downtown Durango! Take a step back into Durango history in our Tasting Room and enjoy stories of Durango's past while enjoying a cocktail featuring our Soiled Doves Vodka. Even those that don't consider themselves vodka drinkers are enjoying our distinct spirit.
After tasting a couple of spirits, my wife chose a silver mountain mule with their gin and I had the Jack Dempsey with vodka. Their spirits are very bold and flavorful. Their sitting area outside was quiet and relaxing.

Spirit Hound embodies the enterprising spirit of the old west, a passion for fine spirits, and our own discoveries in how to distill beverages with high quality and uniquely drinkable character. Our spirits are made with local ingredients such as freshly-picked Rocky Mountain juniper berries and Colorado-grown and -malted barley. We built much of our own distillation equipment to capture all of the purity and flavor and make sure it gets into every bottle we sell - and every glass you drink.
Love their cocktails and the bottled honey whisky is the best I've ever had. Got a Orange hot buttered rum while we were there, able to sit outside with a heater.

Loved the art work in the room. Easy to walk to downtown Carbondale from the hotel. Would love to stay here again! Our dog loved it too! Great smart tv with the Hallmark and Lifetime Christmas channels. Nice fireplace. Nice patio too.

Anvil Distillery is an award winning locally owned and operated Colorado Company, dedicated to Quality Hand Crafted Spirits, forged from local produce. Anvil is heralded with acclaim not just from the multiple SIP Awards, but the Breckenridge Craft Spirits Festival (Gold for Vodka, Silver for Gin), New York International Spirits Competition (Bronze for Gin, Best Gin Distillery in Colorado) and Denver International Spirits Competition (Silver for Vodka, Bronze for Gin). Anvil’s success can be attributed to the care and precision taken during the creation of each small batch spirit. From the purposeful sourcing of the non-GMO white corn from New Mexico, to the malted millet and barley from Colorado Malting Company, the purity of the ingredients matter. The botanicals for the gin are organic, carefully selected so that no chemicals are extracted during distillation. The water, from the St Vrain River right out their back door, is filtered four times. They even start by distilling their own neutral spirits, so that they have control every aspect of the final product. The results are clean, sweet and flavorful, the gin both lively and refreshing on the palette. Peter Grundy, the founder and distiller, shares his perspective on winning so many awards since launching. “Out of all the awards we’ve gotten, the two most important are the Platinum Awards, because it’s consumer based. Real close behind that were Gold and Silver at Breckenridge, against all the other Colorado distillers. It meant a lot. It raised our spirits.”
