Yorkshire (/ˈjɔːrkʃər, -ʃɪər/; abbreviated Yorks), formally known as the County of York, is a historic county of Northern England and the largest in the United Kingdom. Due to its great size in comparison to other English counties, functions have been undertaken over time by its subdivisions, which have also been subject to periodic reform. Throughout these changes, Yorkshire has continued to be recognised as a geographical territory and cultural region. The name is familiar and well understood across the United Kingdom and is in common use in the media and the military, and also features in the titles of current areas of civil administration such as North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and East Riding of Yorkshire.

Perhaps it’s an age thing, but I love browsing in hardware shops and this one in Malton (down by the station) is as good as it gets. Actually, by describing it as a hardware shop I’m doing it a disservice, as it is much more than that, and the title of Country Store as used by a previous reviewer is perhaps more accurate. The style and layout is decidedly old-fashioned and perfectly chaotic, with little rooms and sections all over the place, which makes browsing all the more enjoyable. Oh - and when you actually buy something, the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.

I loved it. All units full. Small Play area fior kids and at the moment a sand sculpture of the Minster. Quiet spot to eat lunch. Restaurants are bars too. Family and young people. Modern area but has warmth. Nothing like I expected. The 2016 reviews are negative so I suspect it was new and not given a chance. Wellingtons has great pizza and dogs welcome on Sundays. Cinema ... college... worth a visit and lunch or after work night out. Or simply shopping. Walking distance from town and train station or over the bridge to the Minster.

I only leave reviews when I have exceptional experiences. My husband and I had a nursery appointment with Martina today. She found an excellent carry cot, pram and car seat option which meets my needs as an epileptic Mum using technology I didn't know existed! She clearly wanted to help us meet baby's needs efficiently rather than maximise JL's profits.

For a change we started at the home furniture store for a browse. Whilst there we had a very nice lunch and on a par in every respect with the main store bistros and cafes.
