You’ll find plenty of orange trees here, but the fruit known as the "Valencia orange" was actually developed in California. Travelers interested in local food should focus on paella instead. While the city contains many monuments, Valencia’s modern crown jewel is the City of Arts and Sciences, a futuristic complex of museums, cinemas, theaters, and more.

Fantastic one-day bike trip on the outskirts of Valencia. We will drink and eat the typical Valencian. It is a trip suitable for anyone who wants to do something different. The trip begins in the City of Arts and Sciences. We will go north to enter the Valencian horta. We will see the fields where the chufa is grown and we will have the opportunity to try the authentic Valencian drink: the horchata. We will turn towards the sea until we reach the Mediterranean. We will cross the beach of Patacona by bicycle and La Malvarrosa before knowing the fishing district of Valencia, in Cabañal. We will cycle through the port before leaving for the Albufera Natural Park, its rice paddies and the best beaches in Valencia. We will have the opportunity to take a picture in one of the most emblematic corners of the area, the Albufera pond. Here we will eat a good typical menu to try the traditional Valencian paella.

A funny way to explore Valencia's beaches, rice fields, Mediterranean forests and the Natural Park of La Albufera. Our son loved it so much, he wanted to repeat the following day! For me, the best part, was eating a real paella while watching the sea! We already booked another trip from Gandia to Valencia in two days!

Johann’s wine tours had been highly recommended by several friends who have gone on multiple tours with him. Everything was very well organized; Pickup in Valencia, explanation of wine making techniques-both historical and modern and selection of wines to taste. Very informative and interesting. We went to Requena first to visit a wine museum complete with caves from the Moorish times and to taste. A short journey by car and we were in the midst of the vineyards where we were able to learn of the entire process, grape to bottled product. Tasting wine among the blooming lilacs and purple irises was a lovely experience. On to Utiel for a three course lunch-with wine, of course. A very lovely day.

15/5-2021 I attended the celebrating freedom in Rubielos de Mora + Fuentes d Mora-Olba-Fuentes de Mora. What an excellent trip. The walking route was magnificent. With a lot of variety in scenery, from the rugged mountains to the delicate stream, and lovely to visit the two villages. I enjoyed every inch of it and also the very relaxed, no nonsense atmosphere and the great company. Looking forward to next time! Thanks Jan!!

I have done multiple tours with Johan, both local tastings within the city of Valencia and visits to vineyards throughout the Valencia region, and every one has been tremendous. He has customized wine tasting and dinner for me and my wife (a Christmas present for my wife), and taken us wine/cheese shopping for unknown treasures (we have since moved to Valencia and continue to do tours/tastings with Johan). If you don't see the specific tour you want, just tell him what you're looking for exactly and he'll work with you to make it happen. He is VERY knowledgeable and friendly, he speaks several languages, and he is very helpful in not only things related to wine, but all things Valencia. I couldn't have been happier with each of my experiences. I would hire him every time and recommend him without hesitation to anyone visiting Valencia.
