My boyfriend and I went on a search for the real Dracula with Ion. At first we didn’t know it was a personal tour and we didn’t know if we had to pack stuff to leave in a bus, car etc with other people. I was so excited to know it was a personal tour. No worries about leaving things behind in a vehicle while exploring. Ion was very informative and he was very knowledgeable about Romanian history. There were a few stops and we ate a lunch next to the Poenari castle. I was a bit worried about the 1400 steps at the castle since I have problems with asthma and the cold(it was December). But there was no rush on how fast we trekked up the stairs. He didn’t even seem to mind that I had Dante my plushie with me!

My idea was to have a day trip from the Romanian capital in Bulgaria and if I like it to stay and explore more. I loved Ruse and Veliko Tarnovo and actually did not go back to Bucharest at the end of the tour. Those 2 cities truly fascinated me and I wanted more off-the-beaten path of Bulgaria. I recommend you this tour as fantastic is not enough to express it!

This trip is a must do if you visit Romania. The Bear Sanctuary is a brilliant place and full credit goes to everyone involved in the Sanctuary and for everything they do for the bear. Some very sad stories for some of them but happy endings now living their lives at this beautiful place. Bran Castle is a must. Its a stunning setting in the beautiful town of Transalvania. Our Guide and driver for the day Florin made this even more special with his knowledge and help with all our questions and needs. This trip is very highly recommended

Visit the most elegant city in Bulgaria, Ruse. Due to its prosperity in the 19th century, the city acquired a pronounced central European look and was even titled a “Little Vienna”. You will start exploring Ruse from the Freedom Square, adorned with beautiful little park and fountains, the square still preserves the ambience of the old times. Bulgarian rich history and traditions will be revealed to you during the visit to Ruse Museum of History. It occupies a former local court building and has an exposition of around 140 000 items. Roman Fortress of Sexaginta Prista, overlooking the Danube, was once a mighty strategic Roman fort. Our guide will walk you through centuries of history to bring the place back to life. Lose track of time when visiting the oldest church of Ruse - Holy Trinity Church, constructed during the Ottoman rule and aiming to be as unobtrusive as possible, it goes below the ground level. The tour will end in a relaxing walk on the Danube Riverbank.

Inclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle, Professional English speaking tour guide, Pick-up from your accommodation in Bucharest

Exclusions: Entrance tickets (cost approx. 6 Eur/person), Lunch expenses

I had an exceptional day learning about Romanian history. I would recommend this tour to anyone if they are spending a couple of days in Romania.

I booked this within 2 hours of the start of the tour on my last day in Belgrade and it was absolutely worth it. My guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and thorough. He even took me to the airport at the end so that I could catch my flight. You know it was a good tour when you feel like you’re leaving the city too soon.
