Adventure to the unique site of Kohunlich, once the center of commerce and politics of the region. This is a less visited site but it is probably the most important for archaeologists as it has a original style of achitecture and many different buildings open to the sight. Admire the monumental masks portraying the ancient royalty of the clasical maya period. Immerse in the lush jungle of corozo trees and amazing tropical trees. Great opportunity to see wildlife.
Inclusions: Unlimited cold bottled waters and soda are included, Private transportation, All Fees and Taxes, Air-conditioned vehicle, Fresh seasonal fruit snacks

The tour started at the port in a small van, but the van wasn’t that nice like other tour groups use (close seats, etc). The tour guide was attentive and narrated the ride to the site in passable English. Glad we weren’t in a big bus tour, as our party of 10 could move around and avoid the mobs.

We had a wonderful time in Bacalar with our fantastic guide Elliot. It was very windy that day so we decided to not kayak and instead used tubes and went swimming, the water was beautiful shades of blue and greens. The food and drinks were awesome and Elliot was full of knowledge and made our time there an awesome experience. Please tell Elliot if he ever gets to NY to look up Bob and Kim, also Brent and Brenda, you are more than welcome into our homes.

It was our first time paddle boarding and we really enjoyed the experience. The guide was helpful and taught us how it is done. We arrived at the beach just before sunset and he prepared the boards and put the led lights under them. We really enjoyed the sunset view as we paddled out. Once it was dark, we turned on the led lights and we could see clearly the coral reef beneath us. There where so many stars in the sky! We turned the lights off and even saw bioluminescence as we paddled through the tranquil water. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable moment. We will do it again upon our next visit

At Chacchoben mayan ruins you’ll be leaded by a professional local guide. We will walk in the jungle to explore and learn about the different structures of the mayan site such as: Temple 24, Plaza B, Gran Plaza, Gran Basamento, Los Gemelos, Las Vasijas and Templo Uno. This excursion also offers the possibility to learn about local plants and observe some species of local fauna, including birds and spider monkeys. At Bacalar lagoon the first place to visit is “Cenote Esmeralda”, where you’ll be amazed by the different shades of blue and understand why the Bacalar Lagoon is frequently referred as the 7 colors lagoon. The next point to enjoy will be “Black Cenote” which is an open sky cenote and also the deepest point of the lagoon. The final spot to explore is the Pirate Channel, as you’ll be explained that day, pirates used to enter Bacalar by using this channel to steal local precious wood.

Very good experience to some of the lesser known mayan ruins. The place was almost desolated and we could enjoy the ruins with only the jungle sounds. Our guide Alondra was knowledgeable and nice, and the transport was clean and on time. Highly recomended

As a group of 7 we were looking to explore the ruins and surrounding area. Hugo and Maria were our hosts and Leo was our guide. They were great ambassadors, accommodating and oh so helpful. There aren't enough words to describe the knowledge Leo shared with us. After the ruins we were taken to a local beach restaurant. Ask for the lobster tacos! Our tour was custom made to include things and places we wanted to experience. Thank you to my new Mexican friends.

Our family of 6 people had an amazing trip to the Bacalar Lagoon with Costa Maya Adventours in January 2020. The Costa Maya Adventours staff was very professional, honest and pleasant to deal with. We had to modify our reservation a couple of times but Marco patiently helped us taking care of these changes without any problem. Our tour was from around 9am-2:30pm and we were picked up on time by the tour guide and driver. Our van was clean, comfortable and nice. The Bacalar lagoon was amazing with its crystal blue water and sandy bottom and we had a great time swimming in the lagoon. We were actually in the lagoon for about 1.5 hr and we wished we could stay longer. However that was impossible because of the long drive from the cruise port to the lagoon and the nice local taco lunch in town (don't miss this lunch experience!). We had a wonderful trip with Costa Maya Adventour and we highly recommend this tour company. The only thing that we would like people be aware of is, because Costa Maya Adventours does not belong with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, you must completely walk out of the cruise port terminal to find the tour guide and the driver waiting for you outside of the security gate. So please don't freak out if you don't see any Costa Maya rep as soon as you get off the ship! After you find them (and they are wonderful), you will be in good hands and you will have an amazing time visiting the Bacalar Lagoon with Costa Maya Adventours! Thank you Marco and your wonderful staff for providing to us a very enjoyable and safe trip to the Bacalar Lagoon! Our family really loved it!!!
