Prizren, in Kosovo, is a charming city of mosques and monasteries dating back to the 14th century. Happily spared (mostly) from both the "destroy the old, build the new" drive of the communists during the early years of their rule in Yugoslavia, as well as the ethnic and religious atrocities that plagued the Western Balkans in the last decade of the 20th century, Prizren has the best-preserved old town in the country so far, and is often referred to as the cultural capital of Kosovo.

I can't thank our tour guide Adam enough for giving us a fun filled day from start to finish. If you are lucky enough to get him as your tour guide you will agree with me that he is one interesting man on this planet! He went above and beyond, even making additional pit stops. He showed us so much in one day that would of easily taken us two to three days to do. The tour exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to do future day trips in other countries/cities with Albanian Express Travel and Adam!

As the capital city of the Republic of Kosovo, it is the center of cultural and artistic development of all Albanians that live in Kosovo. The centre of Prishtina is full of fascinating architecture- modern EU or US funded towers full of glass and steel, sitting next to ageing Yugoslavian Communist era blocks that would have once housed ‘the workers’. With a fascinating and admittedly troubled past, Kosovo is now welcoming almost 200,000 visitors each year and this trend is set to continue as word gets out about its trendy, low-cost, and quirky capital.

All I can say is WOW! We didn't have much time to spend in Albania and this tour covered all of the history and culture one can indulge in just a few days. We started in the ancient city of Durres with a little walkthrough of the history and some stunning views. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable all the way through. What more can you ask for on such a short trip? It was good times and stunning views combined with hilarious banter and cultural education of the region. I particularly liked Shkodra Lake. I wish we had more time. Don't miss this one! Thanks again!

Rented a car and travelled around a week! Some kind of an experience, scary to drive in the centre of Tirana, cars all over, had to drive like a native. But elsewhere it was no problem, visited Durres, Vlores, Berat, Girokaster and Kruje. Would really like to go back. Food was cheap and excellent.
