First we will make a stop at Kravice waterfalls, a large cascade in the karstic heartland of Herzegovina. Afterwards visit to Pocitelj, a medieval village built along the Neretva river. We booked a small group tour but since we were the only two people booked on this day (the perks of traveling off-season!), we inadvertently got a private tour for the price of a shared tour. The entire day was enjoyable without being too tiring since the driving distances are short. Our guide was Esmer, who was really knowledgeable, sweet, and flexible. It’s undoubtedly a good idea to book in advance if you’re visiting Mostar in the summertime when their tours are far more popular. We got to spend time in Blagaj, explore Počitelj (which turned out to be our favorite stop!) and see Kravice Waterfalls. Since we went during the winter, we couldn't swim, but the falls were nearly empty and peaceful so it was still worthwhile. At the end of the tour, Esmer took us to the hills surrounding Mostar and taught us all about the events of the war in Mostar. It was one of the most informative tours we took in the country. I highly recommend the company. They were very professional, our day was beautiful and memorable, and we had some flexibility on our tour since it was just us.

I had an excellent walking tour with Samir, the owner of Travel Bosnia. He personally met me even though I was the only one who signed up for the tour that day, which was greatly appreciated. He was on time and professional, very knowledgeable about the city and the history of each stop on the tour. The pace and content was just right for what I was looking for. The tour hits a lot of the primary city center highlights that you will want to visit, and with a lot more context than doing it on your own.

We went on a walking tour with Emir, “Experience with Local, feel like a local”. We didn’t go to one museum or church/mosque and didn’t even go to the old bridge, but feel like we know the city, understand the history and what the people think, do and want. Emir’s sharing of his family’s personal experiences during the Last War were stirring and helped us understand what the city and its people went through. Emir greeted and introduced us to many of his friends as we toured the city and we had coffee at his neighborhood cafe/bar. We highly recommend this walking tour with Emir if he’s available.

Despite the lack of tourists during the pandemic, Enes and Nadir went out of their way to provide a great tour experience. Enes' witty and expressive personality was definitely the highlight of the tour. We had a blast walking through the fresh snow at the abandoned bobsled track and admiring the expansive view of Sarajevo from the abandoned restaurant on Mount Trebević. I appreciated that Enes shared some of his own personal experiences, like how he managed to track down the Swedish (?) boy that sent him gifts during the war and that he had the chance to personally meet and thank Bruce Dickinson, lead singer of Iron Maiden, for performing at Sarajevo during the siege. Enes has great taste in music and even sent me some songs related to the conflict in Sarajevo, which accompanied me during the rest of my time in the city and gave me a lot to reflect on. The sites we went to were all super fascinating. At the Tunnel of Hope, I got to hear the stories of individuals who braved their lives to bring in food and supplies during the Siege. Enes was very candid in his delivery of Sarajevo's history. I could tell it meant a lot to him. If anything, this tour was too short!

Really enjoyed it. Kotor and Budva are beautiful. Picked up from the hotel, the driver/guide was very good and knowledgeable, I forgot his name otherwise I would personally praise him. I would recommend the trip. The price of it I thought was fair. 2 hours in each of the above towns is just enough to have a quick look round and visit a few buildings.
