Staggering beauty and heart-pumping thrills await in the resort town of Queenstown, which is also known for its Hobbits—much of the Lord of the Rings trilogy was filmed in the area. Outdoor enthusiasts flock to Queenstown for the kayaking, bungee jumping, jetboating, white-water rafting, hiking and skiing. More mild-mannered adventurers can take a quiet cruise through nearby Milford Sound, part of the Fjordland National Park World Heritage area, or sample South Island pinot noir from one of the region's 75 wineries.

One of the best tours we have ever done. Our tour driver, Scott, had a wealth of knowledge of the area, the history and the environment. We were delighted to see endangered kārearea (NZ falcon) and the vistas are stunning. Scott took the time to explain the history of the gold mining and had stories about the characters who lived and worked the goldfields as well as the origins of Queenstown. We can highly recommend this family owned tour company.

I completed a four-day hike in Arthurs Pass with Hiking NZ. Not having a lot of hiking experience I was apprehensive about what to expect. However, the trip exceeded expectations, the scenery was stunning, the days although long were rewarding and our guide let us take our time. Couldn't recommend more

We not only get to see the wonderful mountain and river view in the 4WD, we also get to know the history of the town. Have to mention she is also a magnificent singer. The private tour begins with a breath-taking journey along the shores of Lake Wakatipu. This is one of New Zealand’s most famous scenic road journeys with spectacular views around each bend. After passing through the sleepy township of Glenorchy at the base of the lake we enter the awe-inspiring Mt Aspiring World Heritage area where Middle Earth comes to life. You will literally arrive in Paradise to enjoy some refreshments with the glacial lakes, ancient forests and neck stretching peaks of the film trilogy as your backdrop. Throughout the tour our experienced local guides will give you great insight into why the region was an inspiration for so many movies and how it has brought the vision of Jackson and Tolkien to life on the big screen.
