We loved the hot springs and the setting along a river in the woods and found a small pool at a perfect temeperature for a long soak. The wine tasting at a small family vineyard was a pleasant way to round out the day and a nice introduction to the wines of Montalcino. Matteo was and excellent guide and driver - we enjoyed his insights into the countyside and hid frindly and professional manner. Highly recommended.
Everyone knows Florence, Chianti region, Siena, but have you ever heard of Maremma? We are talking about the coastal area of south-western Tuscany, stretching between the cities of Livorno and Grosseto. This land has been constantly flourishing in the last years, becoming a must when you visit Tuscany: here you can find the perfect combination between human presence and still uncontaminated and wild nature. Thanks to its particular hot, sunny and windy microclimate and to its position close to the coast, wines from this region are something different in the Tuscan panorama, even if grapes cultivation here started many centuries ago. Visit the two most important Maremma wineries, known for their modern design: Rocca di Frassinello and Le Mortelle. Tasting of 3 innovative wines at Rocca di Frassinello owned by Panerai then proceed to Antinori’s Mortelle designed from Renzo Piano, taste their food paired with 4 of their top wines.
Inclusions: Bottled water, 3-course lunch, All activities, Driver/guide, Live commentary on board, Tour escort/host, Private tour, Alcoholic Beverages

What an amazing day! It started with truffle hunting with Roberto and his two dogs - Ori and Chloe! We learned a lot about truffle hunting and how the dogs are trained. Chloe was 'in training' and it was fun to see how Roberto used both dogs. They found about 12 truffles in all of various sizes! Then we headed to a small family winery where we ate the fruits of our labor!!! We had a 4 course 'absolutely delicious' meal, tasted a lot of great wines, in addition to olive oil and honey! We even bought a bottle of wine to take with us and watched Sylvia add the DOCG label by hand (which are closely tracked by the region)! We had a great tour guide, Paelo, with us the entire day! He picked us us at our farmhouse, was our translator when needed, was very courteous and informative! I would highly recommend this very unique experience! And I would recommend Tuscany Private Tours. They were very easy to communicate with and very responsive!

Our driver, Nik, was excellent! We saw the highlights of Rome and catacombs in a few hours, including stops for lunch and coffee. It was a hot day, so traveling in a cool vehicle was very welcome. First class service!
Castiglione della Pescaia is a fortified village overlooking the sea, a balcony overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. From here you can enjoy a panorama of rare beauty, among the most "rich and sweet in the Maremma". The view ranges from the Uccellina mountains to the heights of Punta Ala, from the coast drawn between the intense green of the pine forest and the blue of the sea; below, in the plateau (ancient kingdom of Lago Prile), the marsh of the Diaccia Botrona stretches out, with the elegant and evocative Red House in the foreground, one of the most representative examples of civil engineering that recalls the impressive reclamation work desired and built under the Lorraine. The well-preserved village has exposed stone streets, ancient portals, niches and arcades that chase each other ... all enclosed by mighty turreted walls. Castiglione della Pescaia is one of the most efficient tourist resorts of the Tyrrhenian Sea and in its canal port cradled fishermen's boats and "habituès" boats.
Inclusions: Professional and certified tourist and environmental guide.
Exclusions: Transportation to reach the starting point of the excursions.
Learn the story of Jewish families that moved to Pitigliano in 16 th century attracted by the tolerance policy of the noble Orsini family for building a synagogue, a school, banks, a cemetery and many shops. In 1600 Florence created a ghetto, but the relationships between Jews and catholic were never so bad and the conditions never miserable as in other Italian ghettos. Later the situation change favorably for the Jews, and the ghetto was closed, so in the 1800 the Jewish population reached the 12% of the citizens and Pitigliano became known as the Little Jerusalem. Enjoy the tour of the restorated synagogue, and ghetto. Visit the new museum that offers the possibility to discover this amazing unique place. My wife and I took the all day ride this past September. It was just the two of us and our guide. My wife was just interested in a walking ride which was fine with me. I felt our guide would have given us any type of ride we wanted. The only aspect which could have been better was the lunch they provided, but that is just a minor complaint. Make sure you leave extra time to find the facility. We used Google maps and was informed that we had arrived at our destination in the middle of nowhere. Had to drive into the town of Montieri to call Hotel Prategiano and have them help us find our way.
The imposing castle, which belonged to the Aldobradeschi first and then to the Orsini, dominates the village that was born from the tuff cliff on the Lente river. A network of alleys that descend to overlook the valley, the extraordinary ancient Jewish quarter, the deep cellars dug under the streets, the Etruscan door, the hidden corners of the Fratta district, welcome the visitor dazzled by the incredible famous panorama of Pitigliano. We will also visit the extraordinary hollow streets dug by the Etruscans near Pitigliano and we will try to discover the secret of their origin

The park was designed by the French-American artist Niki de Saint Phalle and is populated with statues inspired by the figures of the major arcana of the tarot. Inspired by the Park Guell in Barcelona, the artist built all the statues himself using glass, ceramic, mirrors and steel. The Tarot Garden is designed to distance you from reality: you will find yourself catapulted into a fantastic, surreal and mystical world that will leave you speechless! A walk in this place will be a wonderful experience, a real magical break from reality! We booked the Underground Colosseum tour in March but then Italy was placed under covid19 restrictions & our trip was cancelled We cancelled our tour a week before it was supposed to happen and contacted the company to request a refund. The CEO Piotr replied and requested that we wait 3 months for our refund due to the financial impact that covid19 had taken on their business. As I work in the hospitality industry in Ireland, I understood their difficulties, so with great trust, we agreed to wait 3 months for our refund. 9 months later, several unanswered phone calls & emails later, I have to accept that we were conned and will never receive our money back. Avoid booking tours with this company as they are crooks!
