My friend and I booked a tour to San Jose with Orlando. He told us that we would have a bilingual tour guide and we would have 2 excursions included. We were picked up for the tour on time. The tour guide barely spoke English but was very nice. We enjoyed the 3 hour ride to San Jose in a nice van. When we arrived we asked what time the first excursion began. At this point we were told that NO excursions were included. We called Orlando and the company directly, both were not cooperative. Orlando said if we wanted our money back we would have to return in the van right then. Obviously we weren't interested in turning around for another 3 hour ride. I have diligently tried since returning to communicate with the company so they would return some of the money that we paid them. Orlando required cash and collected 3500 pesos. Which is roughly $175. We paid $175 for a one way van ride. For comparison, if you ride in one of the local vans with other people it costs $7 per person. We were definitely scammed. And they promoted their great reviews on Tripadvisor.

We didn’t want to do a full day tour so it was really easy to just use the shuttle option. Evelyn, who helped us, was very nice and I was so thankful to her and the driver when they helped me retrieve my phone after having left it in the van.

I would definitely recommend this if you want to check off a bunch of boxes in one day. This tour includes: Tule Tree, Mezcaleria, Teotitlan weaver's, Mitla ruins, and Hierve El Agua. They are relatively quick stops (except for Teotitlan and Hierve El Agua) but each had sufficient time to see what was there. The guide gave us information at each place, except for Hierve El Agua, which I would have liked to know more about, so I guess I'll just read about it online. Lunch was good and the driver was very good.
