Because of its cultural value, Bahla is placed in the UNESCO’s list of heritage monuments. I had a 11 day private tour with the best guide- Khalifa. He was smart and fun and engaging and very creative. He truly made sure that I had a wonderful tour of Oman. Its hard to spend that much 1:1 time with anyone, but he was easy going, considerate, and truly just the best companion. I can highly recommend Mark Tours if you request him specifically. The problem was with the company. I worked with them for two months on the trip- getting each site and hotel and activity specific for me. I had a definite budget and we agreed on a trip w the costs acceptable. Then after about 5+ weeks post agreement and 6 days before I flew the agent wrote me and said he'd make a mistake and that I needed to pay 40% more. I wrote to the Admin and never heard back. Eventually we were able to stay at the original agreed upon price, but that was bad business. Another problem arose when the company tried to substitute a lessor hotel for one that had already been agreed to and put into the itinerary. That also got resolved, but it left a very bad taste. So if you book with Mark Tours be very careful to get everything tied down and in writing. I was and am very concerned that I never heard from the owner/manager about this last minute price increase (40%!) attempt. That to me speaks poorly of the company. But if you do book - make sure you get Khalifa as your guide!

I'm really happy that I choose this company because these 2 days of trips (Forts trip and Grand Canyon of Oman) were incredible. It was one of my best vacations ever and especially I must say THANK YOU to their guide Mr. Khalfan because he was very professional, careful, always focusing on details and thinking about to make the trip more interesting for me. He told me also lots of things about the history of the country, its culture, traditions etc. Thanks to him I enjoyed these 2 days so much and I'll definitely come back to Oman and would like to book another trips guided by him. I highly recommend this company to the others.

Do you remember any of Arabic fairy tales? If yes, then of course you've heard about magnificent Arabic forts ! So it's a high time for exploring Omani historical heritage. The Nizwa Fort is a 17th century castle inside the city of Nizwa, one of the country oldest cities and known as the Pearl of Islam. As well as its historical significance it does also act as a natural gateway to some of the highest and most majestic mountains, is a great vantage point for viewing of Hajar Mountains and surrounding town. Jabreen Castle ("the most beautiful historic castle in the whole of Oman "according to guidebooks) was built in the late 17th century. It used to serve at the same time as a military fort, as a school and as the place of residence of the sovereign of Oman, at the time where Jabreen was the capital city of Oman. The decorated windows and wooden balconies are an authentic expression of Omani craftsmanship. Excited? let's start our journey !

Oman has a lot to offer but it is way better with a story. Go with these guys and you’ll experience the real Arabia. These guys took me off before they officially started a tourist company. First in a boat trip. Awesome, fully serviced as well. The museums. And yes the are even better with a local to tell you the ins and outs. Can’t wait to come back and go in a desert trip with my Omani friends. Thanx guys. I’ll be back soon
