Crater Bay Cottages is a budget lodge by the shores of the beautiful L. Bunyonyi (a place of many little birds) in Kabale district-South Western Uganda. A Birders' haven, It is located about 80Km away from the World Heritage Site - The Bwindi Impenetrable NP and about 61Km from Mgahinga NP both popular for Mountain Gorillas. Activities offered by the lodge at a fee include Nature walks, canoeing on Africa's second deepest lake-L. Bunyonyi, boat ride to the islands, cultural visits, town tour, zip lining over the lake, hiking, biking, birding and gorilla trekking.
Very nice place with a great view. The staff Benedict was so helpful and nice. Also the guide Owen who took us canoeing was awesome. The beds in these cottages are comfy and we had a nice little porch outside. The food was great, don’t miss out one of the crayfish dishes. The only cons with this place was that the power went on and off some times and therefore it was hard to get warm water to take a shower. Otherwise a wonderful stay just by the lake.

We are a high end Eco - luxury lodge promoting cultural tourism and conservation of flora and fauna in a fresh, serene and relaxed farm environment. We are ideal for impressive cultural experiences, family stays, honey-moon, business meetings and retreats and of course individual holidays. Located along Mbarara-Ibanda road, approximately one and a half kilometres from the Nyakyisharara airstrip, you turn off on your left and the one km stretch from the road sign leads you straight to the lodge. On the farm you find the treasured long-horned Ankole cattle. At Emburara Farm lodge we tell you the story and invite you to experience the life, culture and norms around these beautiful, gentle creatures so you too can know why they are so treasured!
I spent a night at Emburara Farm Lodge and my there was nothing but pleasent. The staff at the lodge are friendly, warm and very welcoming; even Nini the cat was part of the welcoming committee and made my stay at the lodge memorable. The lodge has activities that guest can do during their stay at the lodge...i missed the evening birding tour but I hear it is a lovely experience. The next morning I milked cows...an experience that is a must do for anyone planning to stay at Emburara. The food at the lodge was mouth watering and I got to learn that the lodge actually makes their own organic jam. All the vegetables served to guest is grown at the lodge. I will definitely be taking my clients to Emburara Farm Lodge. Simply luxury at its best!!!!!!

Bwindi Cultural centre is flanked by beautiful cottages with en-suite bathrooms, flat TV screens, mosquito nets, with terraces where guests may enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding. Complimentary breakfast is served daily. There is a bar and onsite restaurant that serves both local and internal cuisines.
We left Kampala on a rainy morning through Masaka - Mbarara-Ntungamo - Rukingiri - Kihihi route. Having travelled for 6 hours, we finally arrived at this well kept clean hotel with large green garden. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room (labelled gorilla) was located facing the green fence. The beautiful walking and pathway to the room are paved with stones and on the side are well maintained plants. The room have huge bathroom fitted with warm shower, though at one evening, the pressure was low due to the ongoing road construction which affected water supply to the area. Ronah and her team are the most amazing hostesses - warm, engaging, makes you feel at home. I loved large bedroom fitted with mosquito net, with lots of soft pillows and warm bedsheets. We enjoyed wandering around the area through the local village. Our guide had proposed a visit to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Kihihi Town and finally visited bthe Golf Course at Savannah Golf Club. Breakfast was incredible - home-made katogo (with home grown matooke, ground nuts), fresh passion fruit / melon juice, fruit...perfect way to start the day. Location is perfect for a gorilla trekking trip if you dont want to spend the night in a expensive lodge in the Bwindi national park.

A very nice stay for a good price at prestige cottages. Compared to average prices in Entebbe the price of a 1 night stay was very reasonable given the quality of accommodation. The cottages are self contained large apartments with bedroom, bathroom and living room/kitchen area. The bed had a mosquito net. The place was very clean throughout and the girl who checked us in and made breakfast was extremely attentive and approachable. The price of the accommodation included breakfast which was served exactly at the agreed time and although it was a strange combination of spaghetti, sausage and omelet there was enough food to satisfy our needs. The only downside was there were a large amount of ants which had come into the kitchen presumably due to the heavy rain outside. Overall a fairly well located, clean and large accommodation for a reasonable price and very nice staff. I would recommend this place.

Rwakobo Rock is an eco-friendly, family run lodge and restaurant nestled on a scenic outcrop at the edge of Lake Mburo National Park.
Stunning place with a beautiful view of the savana! The food is delicious, friendly staff, comfortable and well decorated accomodation. The place is very close to Lake Mburo National park what makes it easy to go for the safaris during the day and night. Highly recommend!

High up on a ridge overlooking Lake Bunyonyi, our eleven self-contained cottages are arranged around a central lodge building, where guests can enjoy the tasty dishes in our restaurant or relax and take in the truly breathtaking view. We have a 25-seater motor launch, ideal for taking in the lake and its islands on one of our daytime tours or watching the stars on our nightime Stargazing tour. For the more adventurous, Arcadia Lodge Lake Bunyonyi has two high-end Bombardier JetSkis available for hire, as well as four Honda quadbikes that guests can hire to explore the muddy tracks along the lakeshore or the the ridges overlooking the lake.
I syopped and had lunch on my way from Uganda to Rwanda yesterday; I was stunned by how beautiful the view is and the excellent service really impressed me too! I accidentally lost my precious watch as I was leaving and incredibly the manager Kai has found it and has communicated so supportively with me both yesterday and today! Not only is Arcadia Lodges a beautiful place to stay but this kind of integrity and going the extra mile isn't always easy to come by! I highly recommend Arcadia Lodges for the best views in Lake Bunyonyi, the good food and the outstanding customer care!

Very peaceful and hospitable place, the people are very welcoming, we got here in the night at around 10pm, trouble is if you haven’t placed your dinner order by 6pm, you will have to go to bed hungry. Pros. Very clean and serene environment. Check them out whenever you are in kisoro town the town of the gorillas. ?

Beautiful cottages with a lovely view of the River Nile, situated on a 10 acre private property- spacious room- no ceiling, keeping the place perfectly cool- bathroom with flushing toilet and shower- solar water heating- 220V solar electricity - large, 'four poster' double bed and 1 single bed, with mosquito nets- possibility of setting up a tent- BBQ- veranda.
These lovingly decorated cottages with view over the Nile offer a great escape from Kampala. You simply need to plan for your food&drinks and everything else will be well cared for. Private Bbq whenever you need it, nice salt water pool for relaxing, canoe to explore the Nile etc. etc. Truly recharged our batteries while staying here.

The Turaco Camp is a small camping place in the middle of beautiful dschungle and mountains. We did a forest walk and a village walk and both were unforgettable experiences! In the camp we had an extremly warm welcome and Rose even prepared a typical ugandan dinner for us. The little cottage rooms look nice but since we were travelling with a car with roof top tents, we only stayed in the beautiful garden. Bathroom is simple but totally fine. We can definately recommend the camp and we thank Rose for the wonderful time! Marie and Family
