We just returned from a 3 night stay in Carovigno spending our days seeing the sites of Puglia. Carovigno is a great and central place for doing exactly this. We had the place to ourselves - check out the pictures on their website - its a mini-mansion! Breakfast was offered at John Pierre's bistrot a short distance away and that was very good indeed. Carovigno, in itself is a small town with just a few dining options but after long days of seeing Ostruni, Locorotondo, Lecce, Alberobello, Monopoli and Polignana, settling in for pasta and a beer on the main piazza was great. For the money, this pace can't be beat!!

A pleasant and comfortable place to stay. Beautiful location to visit the Salento. Good breakfast and lovely pool in the middle of a lush and tidy garden. A place to recommend to everyone. The room was a little narrow but equipped with every comfort. If we return to Salento we will stay here again.

Your holiday in Aurasia will be a very pleasant experience, you can spend your time in our countryside and enjoy our swimming pool.
We've never had such a great experience before. Barbara, our host was very kind. She welcomed us upon our arrival, gave us tips, where we can get the best home made olive-oil, and where to find the best places to eat local food. She also gave us some of their home made goodies, like jam or red wine. We're very thankful, that we've found this great spot. It's totally recommended to book a Trulli if you once visit Ostuni.

Staying at Masseria Pittore was the highlight of our trip to Italy! The house was beautiful and the staff were helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. A delicious breakfast was provided for us every morning as well. I would highly recommend staying here.

The place is not well maintained, they don't let you use the hot water at your convenience, the owner Uberto has clearly an issue with foreigners, we witnessed him shouting at tourists saying that they should go back to their country. His son is super aggressive. I was so shocked how both jumped on those people, I googled him on internet to find his judicial records speak for themselves. They are so many better options around with civilized hosts.

Locanda Fiore di Zagara is a magnificent home dating back to 1700 in the center of Diso, a historical Salento village close to the sea. The residence underwent restoration with careful consideration of its original colors, materials and design, bringing back to life the building’s bygone allure.Eclectic yet sophisticated furnishings, attention to detail, respect for the location’s culture, history and context: researching and reviving the aesthetics of the past were the guiding forces of the building’s restoration and the design of each room, from the reading room to the old kitchen to the pool crafted out of Lecce stone.
Because it is "slap-dash". It really could do with a bit of Northern European "tidying up" - but then of course it would not be Puglia/Salento/Sicilia or all the other bits we love so much!! Thank goodness it has not become entirely gentrified like so much of Europe. Long may it remain slap-dash and scruffy and fascinating and beautiful!!! Having said that, it is wonderful to retire of an evening to a wonderful place like Locanda Fiore di Zagara! When we stayed here just recently we were the only people in the place - which of course was terrific - allowed me to go around singing and humming without a care in the world - but I would probably have done this anyway given the peace and tranquillity of the hotel. We stayed in the "Venus room" which was beautiful - I will ask for this when we go next year. Lucia and Alessandro looked after us superbly in every way. Love to you both!!! Lucia is a star. Follow Alessandro's advice and you will travel and eat well! We had the most superb evening at Trattoria la Bersagliera in nearby Surano We are going back
