Malaysia is a beautifully complex vacation destination, a land where ancient rainforests give way to multicultural city life. Capital city Kuala Lumpur is visually defined by the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, while in charming Melaka the vibe is more quaint and historical. Many of the country’s national parks offer opportunities for fantastic whitewater rafting, and the exclusive Sipadan dive site (off the east coast of Borneo) is among the best in the world.

Good location near Chenang beach. About 10 minutes walk. Stayed one night here during the RCMO September 2020 for my solo birthday trip. Arrived later in the evening/check in. Booked the double storey chalet with breakfast on promo price through Agoda. Very spacious & comfy. Queen size bed. Had a good night sleep. Breakfast with a view of the paddy field. Friendly & helpful staffs around to assist you if you need anything. Overall, great staycation for me! Will definitely come back and stay here again.

Staying for 2 nights in this wonderful little homestay, I have 0 expectations before arrival but once I reach it, it’s exactly what I’m looking for. Quiet and peaceful, next to the beach and has everything you needed. The owner was very nice and let me know all the amenities, although the weather is a little rough, it doesn’t affect my holiday mood. The cottage is clean and has everything you need. The bed is comfortable and the air-conditioning is so powerful that it cools down a hot room in 5 minutes. The shower has hot water and the water pressure is stronger than in my own house. Lol. There’s lots of outdoor seating area in the compound, just be careful that during evening time there are many mosquitoes. There’s a commune kitchen nearby the beach where you can do your cooking. The beach in front is full of rocks, please wear swimming shoes if you plan to jump in, otherwise, you can walk 5 minutes to the nearby beach. During my time, 90% of the beach is totally no people. You can have your own time and no one will disturb you. About restaurants, there’s only very few within walking distance. I’m not driving so I only can walk. One is the further restaurant nearby Four Season where sell Fish and Chips. Hmm, the food portion is a little small with that price, but it has a good view and draft Guinness. The other one is Din’s Cafe, if they are open in the morning I believe I would have all my meals there. Very decent local makan place (restaurant). They serve everything you’ll expect in a Malay restaurant. They also have western food and all kind of beverages other than alcohol. IT’S SO GOOD AND BETTER THAN MANY PLACES IN KL. If you need any groceries, there’s a shop about 1-15 minutes walking distance. They sell EVERYTHING you need. Surely will be back and thanks to the owner for such a wonderful stay!

The chalet is cozy and comfortable but the air conditioning was pretty much blowing out warm air. It wasn't terribly unbearable but definitely quite uncomfortable. There was no potable water bottles provided and I think this basic gesture should be a given. Or at least a heating kettle to boil our own water because you can get quite dehydrated by the beach. Perhaps I can suggest bringing along some mineral water bottles. Anyway, the boat rides to the snorkeling areas was the highlight of the trip and pretty much made up for the AC and water issues. Food was okay and tasty but not buffet style, perhaps due to the new normal SOP? Samudra was very thorough organizing the trip and this should be commended. Overall, a pleasant trip and a great escape from the city to enjoy nature and the sea and the sun and sealife!

I was given a birthday present by my friend Abilz Letop a 1 night stay in Eagleye Cottage. The place is very nice and I can feel the nature vibes there. The room is very comfortable and they has a very unique design which is more to english style. The owner Miss Suzie were very friendly and given us a very special service and hospitality. We enjoy our bbq night during our stay there. This place deserve a 5 star rating. All the facilties provided are very good,

A secluded waterfront retreat tucked away in a remote bay. Getting there is an adventure by itself as you need to take a 5 minutes boat ride to get in. Discover a coral reef, a jungle hill and or just laze under the shade and enjoy the breeze on a hot balmy day. Your quest for "la dolce vita" is found in this little "paradiso". Rooms are rustic with a 5 star touch attached with a spacious modern bathroom with the ambiance of natural environment. Our queen bed chalets can accommodate 2 persons and our semi-detached family chalet 4 persons or more . All rates includes breakfast, coffee/tea/juice. Add on set lunch and set dinner available on request. Activities includes snorkeling, canoeing on the beachfront, jungle walk by our backyard and trips to the Pandan-pandan Island.
Such a lovely place! Quite, calm an located just at the beach! Rooms are a bit small but you don’t need to stay in the house because their veranda and the beach look awesome ❤️. Highly recommend for few days.

We are a couple and we book the place for one week to be quiet of the noise of the city. We left after three days because our skin was very itchy and red spots. After the visit to the pharmacy, they told us it was bedbugs so we decide to get out of Tony's house immediatly. We ask a refund for 4 nights for that bad situation but the owner didn't want to give our money back. He accused us to be scam travelers to avoid reimbursement which we aren't. We came back with the proof paper of the pharmacy, however he was not agree with that paper so we pay for the nights that we were not there. We felt very uncomfortable and incomprehensive situation. Be careful with that place.

The place is a bit far from the city but is really clean and nice. The owners are fantastic and would help you as much as they can. They can arrange car/tickets etc for you. There are few restaurants nearby and you can take a short cab ride to the nearby beach.

The Reef Chalets is a cosy small place with 12 Chalets arranged in a half moon shape in a lush tropical garden with big trees and grass area.
The Reef Chalet on Pulau Perhentian Besar (Big Island) houses simple no frills cozy chalets close to the beach front. Hot water for showering, aircond, fan, mosquito net, towels & soap are provided. For drinking hot water, one will need to go to reception to obtain as there are no mini fridge or electric kettle provided. 3 pin plug points are sufficient for 2 pax staying. My friend and I were on a short 4 day3night stay as we’re out in the sea most of the 3days due to my friend’s open water swimming clinic event. Big island will be more for honeymooners or family as food & beverage choices are limited. Barat is next door serves beer & awesome Bbq & western food. Mama’s chalet next to Barat serves thumbs up Italian coffee. The beach in front has plenty of fishes and sea cucumber & is shallow for kids. It is recommended to walk about 10min to the back and swim at PIR beach. There’s a snorkelling place in front of PIR which have alot of bleached corals but so where a young black tip shark was spotted during the ows clinic. Becareful & do not step on the corals as corals are living creatures formed over decades. To reach Reef Chalet, Barat,Mama’s chalet, one will be dropped off at the floating jetty to walk about 50mtrs to beach. Dusky spectacle monkeys can also be spotted at the Reef chalet. Just be wary of your food and stuff. Do not try to feed them as this is against their natural diet and they will turn aggressive in long run. In summary, the big island is a chill out island. Fret not, there is a small shop selling tidbits, mineral water, beer , simple toiletries next to Reef chalet. Breakfast is not included at the Reef.

You have to get off at the Barat station pier and walk pass the Barat resort to get to Mama. And no real beach for Mama but you have your own beach chair under the trees which is very nice also. I took a nap one time but please aware of mosquitoes so do not forget to bring the spray and sunscreen too. Moreover, it's very convenient to go to the Perhentian beach by walking, no need for water taxi. And from there you can hike in the jungle to another beach, floral bay with less than 30 minutes. And at Perhentian Island Resort (PIR) beach you can snorkel and see turtles, big blue fish and nice coral. What I love most here is the people, they are very nice, calm, friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant is good, local food and reasonable price. They have boat service, day trip, rental. On the last day, my boyfriend got some food poison and we did not even tell anyone but one guy noticed that my bf was not so well. He came and recommended some medicine and it helped a lot. So we survived quite ok on the bus back home. You have to bring your own shampoo, shower gel and tissue paper, if not you can buy at the resort also. And for drinking water, you can buy here also and it's the cheapest compare to other resort or minimart. BTW, If you want something fancy you can eat at the Barat bear by is also some nice BBQ dinner and a bit fancy lunch but very recommended. The bungalow is wooden and a bit old but good maintenance. The air-con works well but cut every 6 hours. During the day maybe too hot to stay in the bungalow but we enjoy being outside anyway. There are so many things to do. Going to turtle bay for some nice swimming with the big wave, to long beach for some nice cafe and fancy restaurant. Again you can hike to the windmill point, less than 30 mins and the view from there is very worth the journey.
