Much of northern Spain belongs to Castile-Leon, an autonomous region surrounded by mountains. Architectural gems like the Romanesque stonework of Segovia's city walls, the Gothic Burgos Cathedral and the dramatic Baroque square in Salamanca are complemented by the area's natural beauty. Parque Natural de las Hoces del Rio Duraton is marked with deep gorges and shelters many birds of prey, while Parque Natural del Lago de Sanabria y alrededores contains the largest glacier lagoon on the Iberian Peninsula.

We stayed here for just one night on our honeymoon, and I wish we could have stayed longer! It's a little "off the beaten track" but oh, so worth it! The house itself is beautiful, well decorated with all shared amenities (kitchen, lounge, dining table, courtyard). We stayed in a room with a private bathroom. The bed was super comfortable, bathroom clean with a decent shower, fluffy towels, plenty of space for storage. We opted for breakfast in the morning and for €4, it was amazing value! Toast, homemade condiments, ham, cheese, sweet buns, as well as coffee and juice, we were definitely well fed! I would highly recommend this place!

Definitely a hidden gem, Mogarraz offers excellent views and has stunning historic architecture, it´s perfect for a romantic weekend. We spent 2 nights at the rural hostal el Humilladero and it was the highlight of the trip. Placido, the owner, served us breakfast and was the most friendly and generous host.

Great location in ancient royal mint, pleasant stroll to centre, stunning Roman aqueduct and enticing streets and street cafes. Suckling pig to die for at las narizotas! Rooms are a little dark and better sound insulation between rooms wouldn’t go amiss....

These beautiful apartments are located in the Plaza Mayor de Ayllon and enjoy pleasant views. The Medieval Alborada has 3 modern apartments, where a comfortable equipment merges with a medieval environment, in a house of great architectural charm.

Stopped here on a drive from Portugal to the UK. The pretty town is steeped in history & the hostel is right in the centre of it all, very Spanish. There is no parking but we easily parked in the street outside. Lovely staff, the room was 2 single beds head to head but it had everything we needed including a bath (although some more soap & shampoo would have been handy), very reasonably priced & a fabulous reasonably priced set menu dinner in the restaurant.

This is simply, one of the best places I´ve ever stayed in my travelling life.. Location is absolutely amazing, Hamilton & David were the best hostess anyone could ask for!! You´re made feel so comfortable from the moment you ring the doorbell. I was staying with a friend and we booked the Cobalto room in advance and it was a great room. It´s got a very clean ensuite bathroom, large shower, lots of room in there. Bedroom is very big too, the bed is just so comfortable. There´s a large sitting room to share with the other guests.. Breakfast is an unique experience, there are freshly baked goods there every day with endless coffee, fresh juice, quiche, pancakes and other yummy treats. But truly what makes A Toca unique is the care and personalized service Hamilton & David give you. They help you with suggestions on where to go, help you booking activities and cater to whatever you may need. Thank you both for the warmth with which you looked after us!
