I will never forget the fabulous week we had at Organic Tuscany. Shilpa and Ricardo were amazing hosts and everyone on their team, from the cooks to the tour guides, to the local artisans were approachable, knowledgeable and fun. The Accidental Tourist was born in the spring of 1998 offering the first single-day hands-on cooking class in Tuscany. We welcome the curious and open-minded traveler in the heart of our Tuscan home, for an authentic yet magical experience. We take a maximum of 8 people, but will go with as few as one: we never leave the solo traveler behind. We welcome families with children as we know how challenging it can be to travel with the young ones in the Old Country. AND, we charge for our tours only if our guests are happy to pay for their day with us.

The day spent with Massimo and Elena was one of the best we had in Tuscany! Wonderful food and very entertaining! We tried our hand at making truffle Ravioli plus watched Massimo and Elena as they instructed and inspired us with their delicious meal! Shout out to Barbara from the winery who acted as our interpretor! Don't miss this class!

Our classes are offered as a view into a typical Tuscan cuisine. Classes are small and intimate. First step: grocery shopping at the central market!! You will go shopping with the chef at the central market picking up the ingredients for your lunch. You will meet the butchers, the bakers, and the farmers selling vegetables from their gardens. You will learn how to distinguish the highest quality ingredients and as an added bonus, how to bargain! You will taste local foods & wines. After this fun experience you will reach the house and start the lessons in a private kitchen. A true hands-on experience, and you will prepare your own meal, made of Bruschetta, Fresh Home-made Pasta, and a main course, accompanied with a selection of Chianti wines. As you will eat your own food, you’d better be an attentive student while the Chef is teaching!
This was a great experience. We could’ve skipped the marketplace in the morning but the cooking and endless wine drinking was fantastic. It was so satisfying making our pasta from scratch and seeing how to make 2 kinds of sauces. It was a ton of fun and my teenagers loved it. They can’t wait to get home and cook a meal!

I spent 10 days learning as much from Marcella as we could about Italian cooking, the history, techniques and recipes! She is so knowledgable, entertaining and a great teacher! The 10 days is not enough to cover even a 10th of Italian cuisine, but we covered more than expected. From pasta varieties, basic preparations, meats, fishes, vegetables and gnocchi! Highly recommended course, thank you Marcella! :-)
