In Peru's second-most populous city, aka "The White City," stunning colonial buildings made of pearly sillar stone vie for attention with the surrounding volcanoes and snow-capped peaks of the western Andes. Founded in 1540, it's a smorgasbord of mansions and museums. The top attraction, 215,000-square-foot Santa Catalina Monastery, is like its own city within a city, complete with fountains and cobblestone streets. Arequipa is the favorite base for visiting Colca Canyon and its massive condors.

This is a great experience and professional cooking class in a great kitchen set up!! My husband & I enjoyed ourselves and even though we love to cook, we still learnt new things from Art. He demonstrates each step & then lets you prepare each ingredient and he gives you the recipes to take home. Looking forward to recreating this at home! Wish we would have had more time to do another class with him. I highly recommend this class and I would certainly go again if I come back! Thanks Art!!

Cooking Class Arequipa. A 2 hour experience cooking with locals and chating about products, recipes, meals, life, etc. Enjoy a two course meal plus desert while you learn a cultural souvenir you will take home and share with your love ones.
I actually went there in Sept 2016. The cooking class is done in a family home on the roof with an amazing view. The family was so friendly and sweet! The food was delicious. We made Ceviche, pisco sour and stuffed bell peppers. Then we feasted on the roof top with a view. This was such a good experience and I recommend them to anyone. After the class they were so sweet they sent us the recipes and when I asked for a chocoletas recipe they were so nice they sent that too!! This family is trust worthy and sweet and was extremely welcoming. The food was also Amazing!! There was also a good portion of it too! Best cooking experience in Peru!

Peru has one of the best cuisines in the world and in Arequipa, one of the culinary centers of the country, you can learn to make some of the most famous dishes yourself. Alejandra, our jefa de cocina, taught us how to make causa, lomo saltado and a delicious dessert which we enjoyed with a refreshing pisco sour in the garden of la casa de avila. A must for everyone who enjoys good food and likes to cook!
