Pros: actually it gave what necessary. We were able to relax and sleep well. Kind staff. Looks like recently refurbished. Cons: sauna, jacuzzi and steam bath were all too cold. Staff could not help. Rooms warm enough with good thermal and poor sound insulation. Breakfast and check out is at 10am, that is a bit early for those who came to chill out

Préselő Winery and Guesthouse is serving both as an estate center for a 8 hectare winery and also offering 10 comfortable guests rooms for visitors, offering a unique adventure of staying in a living winery, visiting onsite wine tastings or enjoying wine-dinners.
We visited Erdőbénye for a weekend getaway and were very happy with our stay at Préselő. We had rooms near the front of the house (some with street facing windows and some overlooking the garden). The rooms were clean, comfortable, and were nicely done without being overthought and pretentious. (Our room combined traditional wooden beams with contemporary touches.) The small garden is also nice. Our host was very helpful and accessible and, as we found out in the course of a tasting and dinner, also well educated and knowledgeable when it came to winemaking and local wine culture. The food provided (both the breakfast included and the optional dinner with the tasting) were good quality, including some home-made components. I would gladly return if I come back to the area.

We have been coming here for over 6 years now. Love the white hot chocolate and milkshakes. Great to sit outside in all seasons and watch the world go by. On a quaint cobbled street under the castle. Highly recommended. Friendly staff too ? Inside is oldy woldy and cosey. Cakes are slightly dry though

The brand new Irota EcoLodge premises consist of three spacious, luxurious and well-equipped holiday villas and a shared natural swimming pool (size 6x16m). Although slightly different in detail, the houses basically have the same lay-out and are all adjusted to guests with special needs. Each house (170 m2) has its own style: The Lower House is the rustic, countryside type, the Middle House has a retro, 1960s feel, while the Upper House has a sleek and modern design. On the outside terrace, you will find all necessary furniture to enjoy the beautiful sunny days. From here, you have easy access to the natural swimming pool which is picturesquely located amidst the reeds. From the Lower House you have access to the fishing pond. The houses are detached, which guarantees full privacy. However, in case your group decides to rent more than one house, doors in the wooden fences in between the properties make it easy to move from one house to the other. All houses are provided with parking space for two vehicles. Mobile phone coverage in Irota is limited, but in each house you have a telephone land line as well as free WiFi at your disposal. The natural beauty of the Cserehát region, of which Irota is called the gateway, is located on the south side of the Hungarian-Slovak border and is defined by the Sajó, Bódva and Hernád rivers. Compared with the rougher, Slovak side of the area the Cserehát is undulating and covered with forest. It also has a thriving wildlife. Visitors will see a lot of foxes and deer. The usually shy wild boars are less visible, but also present in large numbers. The hills are 250 to 300 meters high on average. The area is popular with hikers, bikers, fishermen and hunters, while the large variety of bird species makes the Cserehát an ornithological destination par excellence. A nature reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site, Aggtelek National Park is only a 40 minutes drive away.
The two days we spent at Lower House was one of our most pleasant get-aways in Hungary. The house is stylish and comfortable; the backyard is beautiful and fenced in; and the people helping us were very kind and respectful. We also really appreciated the fact that guests are allowed to bring along their furry family members. But what striked me even more was the genuine care that the owners invested in ensuring that their initiative is sustainable. They, for example, prepare a yearly sustainability report, with the appropriate carbon emission calculations included and yearly progress tracked. We are looking forward to returning for a longer stay.

This studio flat was perfect for my one-night stay in Eger. It is a 15 minute walk from the city centre and basilica. The studio has a comfortable bed and shower room. It also has a small kitchenette, not really ideal for cooking and eating but good for making breakfast. Would recommend for a short stay.

We had a very nice room and a bathroom that a shared dining room and a kitchen with another apartment. The kitchen was equipped with kitchen sink, refrigetator, microwave oven. The apartments also had a shared balcony. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. There was a TV and also Wi-Fi. The house has parking places and a nice garden with a jacuzzi and a trampoline.

The place is a little bit out, but don't let that put you off. They are a truly wonderful welcoming couple. A beer and glass of wine when we arrived and a lift to the station when we left and even a second trip to deliver me my hat that i had forgotten. They truly care about what they do. The garden is gorgeous and in early summer it was full of juicy lemons and pomegranets. It is such a beautiful setting. The breakfast was a veritable feast. The room is basic, but the surroundings and owners more than compensate for that. Who needs a luxury bedroom when you have such an amazing garden to sit it. This was our second time and there will be a third and a fourth and a fifth I am sure. we highly recommend

Lise & Sylvain
