Brevard County's longest running theatre.
Went to the Melbourne Civic Theater, which is so small there are no bad seats in the house and everyone can easily hear the actors. Each production has a great cast. The show we just saw was "Sylvia" about a couple who adopt a dog named Sylvia. If you've ever had a dog, you can really relate to this play. The only objection was the use of swear words which is not necessary, especially since the audience is mostly retired. Instead of taking the Lord's name in vain and using the F word repeatedly, simply say something less offensive.

Established as the "Aladdin" theatre, the doors opened to the public on August 18th, 1924, showing silent movies. Later, Brevard's first "talkie" movie house became known as "the showplace of the Indian River Section". Several owners and several decades later, the building was restored operational and began producing community based musicals in 1989. In 1991, the Playhouse was accepted onto the National Register of Historic Places under the official name "The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse." Known to all as "Broadway on Brevard" this team of volunteers and staff are truly an example of one of the highest quality community highest quality community theatres in the country. Sound of music a wonderful classic and it was a great performance last night. It's hard to believe that the performers, seamster, orchestra and stage hands are all volunteers. We have attended several performances and they were all wonderful. This is a classic a must see.

We saw West Side Story and loved it. The cast was great and the scenery was top notch. This was the first time I was there and I can't wait to go back. Every seat is good and the sound and drama was great. Kudos to the cast for bringing this musical to us.

Surfside Playhouse is such a wonderful asset to the Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral community. Every aspect, from the actors, singers, dancers, director, set designers, and all staff and volunteers are professional & dedicated. I would highly recommend this lovely little playhouse to anyone who loves professional theater.

We just happened to see this restraint on our hotel brochure and it lead to an amazing evening out! Alyssa was our server for the night and we couldn’t have been luckier, she was the best! We did the dinner and show combo. Dinner is whatever you order and the comedy show is $13.00 per person. You can skip dinner and just see the show at 9pm too. You can started dinner at 7pm and the show is at 9pm. We got there by 7:15 and were done by 8:45 to see the show! The dinner was perfectly prepared. We had the special for the day: Swordfish and their Steak Oscar: filer mignonette with the crab cake on top. Steak was done a perfect medium rare. The fried green tomato appetizer was delicious with goat cheese on top. After the dinner 3 comedians came to the stage for a 2 hour comedy show. Drinks are served during the show, they have a specialty cocktail menu with martinis listed. The comedians were flown in for these events so they are professional and it was very well done. Shout out to Kate Brindle who performed second, she was very funny.

Stayed at a condo right next to this place and enjoyed the free live music that made its way to our deck from afternoon through early evening. A very handy spot to grab a beer or drink and return to the beach. Me and the wife also trekked over one night to shoot some pool and have a few drinks. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The bar itself is pretty basic - no pretense, or gimmicks. Just a cool spot in a great location, with some of the best live cover bands I've ever heard outside of Nashville.
