November 10, 2021 Marlin Saiz

The landscape that inspired Anne of Green Gables entices legions of lovers to Canada’s smallest province. Peaceful P.E.I. is a slow paced haven, full of distinctively Maritime delights. Red sandstone cliffs rise above gentle beaches. Lonely lighthouses dot rocky bluffs. Deserted trails beckon for romantic roaming.

Ross Family Ceilidh

Reviewed By AlexisB740 - Milwaukee, United States

We saw the Ross Family at their once per week performance at The Guild in Charlottetown on July 9. This is a trio of siblings who each have a gift of extraordinary musical talent. That would be enough, but that they manage to also provide a very entertaining and energetic show is icing on the cake. They have obviously evolved into a "well oiled machine," spellbinding the audience with incredible musicianship , demonstrating intricate and synchronized step dancing routines while standing, sitting and -- in one incredible instance --while standing on her head and still playing fiddle! There were a couple of stunts I thought they could omit (e.g., playing the fiddle under a leg, playing the guitar backwards, while resting it on her shoulders) because I was already totally impressed and these seemed superfluous by the time they did them. But the three siblings are consummate performers, who never seemed to miss a beat in a show that was absorbing and thoroughly entertaining. We were very happy to have spent our last of seven evenings on PEI experiencing the talents of The Ross Family!

Brackley Drive-In Theatre

This is a 1950's era drive-in theatre.

Highly recommend for a wonderful evening, the drive-in is super well-run. We did a triple bill which were fun selections for Halloween. We’ve been to a handful of drive-ins recently and this was by far our favourite. There are even little hills in each row to drive the tip of your car up onto so you look right up to the big screen. Ps amenities are very clean (the best portable washrooms I’ve ever come across)

Victoria Playhouse

Local theatre playhouse in the Village of Victoria by the Sea. Shows run all summer long - check out their website for listings. Very reasonable pricing. We were delighted to get tickets to Follow The Fiddler - a narrated walking tour of Victoria. This was an 'outdoor' play - we followed The Narrator, Erskine Smith, and The Fiddler through town and actors came out from behind a building; etc. and acted out a scene; told tales; sang songs. And as we walked away from each scene our narrator said; and now we'll follow the fiddler and as we walked strolled the streets lovely Cynthia MacLeod entertained us with Celtic fiddle tunes. Have never done anything quite like this. It was delightfully entertaining and one of the highlights our our Prince Edward Island trip. Perfect for all ages too!

Harbourfront Theatre

Harbourfront Theatre opened its doors in 1996, the result of more than a decade of tireless effort on the part of a group of Summerside citizens with a vision to create a state of the art, multi purpose performing arts facility in Prince County. The theatre, along with the Eptek Art & Culture Centre and the Summerside Visitor Information Centre, is housed in The Wyatt Centre, aptly named after one of the facility's major contributors, Dr. Wanda Wyatt. Harbourfront Theatre is owned by Regional Cultural Events Centre Inc., a registered non-profit organization managed by a board of directors, general manager, and director of operations, and boasts a friendly, knowledgeable, professional staff and a dedicated core of over 90 volunteers. Its mission is "to provide a continuous live entertainment service to the Prince Edward Island community and its visitors, featuring both local and touring productions, while being a significant driving force within the community to encourage and nurture the development and appreciation of the performing arts." The facility is ideally suited to a myriad of uses, including plays, concerts, opera, ballet, comedy & magic shows, conferences, seminars, receptions, business mixers, trade shows and public forums. Beautifully appointed and state of the art equipped, the Harbourfront Theatre represents the best of both worlds - large enough to host renowned touring acts, yet small enough so that every one of its 527 seats captures a uniquely intimate performer/audience experience.
