Nestled within Discovery Harbour on Georgian Bay, the King's Wharf Theatre is a pleasantly rustic, 385-seat venue that offers all the comforts of a modern facility. Flanked by the historic buildings of a 19th-century British naval and military base, the theatre is located at the end of a beautiful boardwalk that looks on to the homeport of replica ships H.M.S. Bee and H.M.S. Tecumseth. A visit to the King's Wharf Theatre takes only 45 minutes from Barrie and Orillia, or just over an hour from Collingwood. While in the area, explore the communities of Penetanguishene and Midland, which offer unique shops and dining establishments. You'll also want to discover such treasures as Ontario's first European Community at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons.

A 300-seat (325 person) capacity on Collingwood’s main street. The Theatre’s Art Deco appearance cleverly hides the modern amenities that make it a wonderful venue for the performing arts. We moved up to our cottage in the area to live full time about ten years ago. We are quite familiar with the area and have always enjoyed Midland because it is a smaller city with all the amenities, but not larger city hassles. The "new" cultural centre has been in our mind to visit for a while, but a last minute decision on Saturday finally made it a reality. It is a beautiful facility that has lots to offer for a days visit. We went strictly for a performance in the evening which was wayyyy above expectations. A appreciated bonus was the cafe with snacks and treats and a wine bar. Staff were just like all the midland residents: friendly and helpful. I also want to give a shout out to the performance that evening: No Sugar Tonight. They are a five-man band doing a tribute to the GuessWho and Bachman Turner Overdrive. They are unbelievable. If you close your eyes you would think it was the originals, which I gave been lucky enough to hear live.
