10 Concerts & Shows in Downtown Indianapolis That You Shouldn't Miss

June 27, 2021 Janean Rudisill

High-speed, history and good old Hoosier hospitality are a few reasons to put Indianapolis on your list of great getaways. Sports is another. From the legendary Indianapolis 500 to the Pacers and the Colts, the city offers ample opportunities to view professional and amateur sporting events, take part in athletic events and visit sports museums. At the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Hall Of Fame Museum you can tour the famous track (try to reserve tickets if there is a race in town) or visit the museum dedicated to automobiles and auto racing. Other sporty museums include the NCAA Hall of Champions. To get in on some of the action, head to SportZone which features six acres of indoor athletic facilities the whole family will enjoy. Those less interested in sports, or with kids in tow, can still find tons to do in and around the city. History, art and other cultural attractions abound. Visit the Children's Museum or checkout the zoo. Stroll along cobblestone streets past 19th-century buildings in the Lockerbie Square District or visit any number of historic landmarks. Known as the "Crossroads of America," more interstate highways bisect Indianapolis than any other city in the country, making it an exciting and easily accessible destination.

We have lived in many parts of the country and gone to many, many theaters but the IRT beats most of them! What a great piece of architecture. The theater was so impressive. We saw A Christmas Carol and even though we've seen many, many versions of the play, this was by far the BEST version. The staff volunteers were so nice and helpful. The seats were comfortable and the play was one of the BEST we've seen.

Mind Tripping Show

National Touring performers Christian & Katalina are at the Hilton with a funny, surprising, interactive, and intimate, interactive theatrical show called Mind Tripping: A Comedy with a Psychological Twist. Christian & Katalina, the #1 Husband & Wife Comedy Mind Reading Act, take audiences on a series of mind-bending adventures that is pure fun. The show is a psychological thriller that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality. Think Candid Camera meets the Twilight Zone. Perfect for teenagers age 13 and older. It is a great show for date night, birthday and anniversary celebrations, and ladies night out. Shows are Friday and Saturday nights.

Christian and Katalina have great chemistry together. They're very funny, personable, and put on an amazing show with lots of audience participation. I actually saw an audience member do a literal "spit take" while laughing during the show!

I attended the Yuletide Celebration with a friend that has become an annual tradition for us. Frankie Moreno was a great host and gave a stellar performance. The one segment they could have done without was the 2 laser lighted trees set to music. It lowered the classic production and cheapened the entire show to rock star status. On the flip side, the blue gowns worn by the singers in the Polar Express portion were by far the most gorgeous design ever! Absolutely stunning!!!!! Nothing I've seen before comes close to the magnificant, sparkling, beauty of those gowns. A truly delightful Christmas show.

Found this place by accident. I walk every morning and found this place on my walk Sunday morning from the Crowne Plaza. I went in my Bronco hat and shirt and was treated very well by the local fans. They had excellent food and beer was very reasonable, which you normally don't find at a bar this close to the Stadium.

Two teams compete for laughs, points, and the meaningless trophy by making up games, scenes, and songs on the spot. The audience gives all of the suggestions and votes for the winner! ComedySportz is not comedy about sports - it's improv comedy played AS a sport! My fiancé and I came here for Valentine’s Day. Tickets were pretty cheap so we figured why not give it a try. The show seemed to consist of 20 something year olds who had a range of different types of humors. It was really well put together and really funny! We were engaged the whole time and laughing a bunch. The had some audience participation which was a lot of fun. Drinks and food were very cheap. Not the best food or drinks but you get what you pay for, right? Overall, we would definitely go back again and they are for sure worth checking out!

The Crane Bay Event Center

The Crane Bay is a truly unique event facility located steps away from the Lucas Oil Stadium in Downtown, Indianapolis. The Decor features an urban, edgy, and industrial atmosphere that can be transformed to meet the needs of any event! The walls of the facility are painted white; a blank canvas so to speak, that will allow you to adjust the LED lighted columns to any color to match your event. Perhaps the most remarkable feature of Crane Bay is the private outdoor patio that faces the downtown skyline. On a chilly evening, the fireplace and heating elements will keep you warm while you cozy up on the comfortable lounge furniture. Another aspect to note is the wide open indoor space that can be kept or divided using our draping system. This naturally progressive layout allows you to surprise your guests with a “room reveal” and move from cocktail reception, to dining or dancing with ease. The building itself has been in existence since the 1800’s, but was taken over and transformed for the Rolling Stones Magazine Super Bowl XLVI Party. With the investment of time, capital, and the partnership of Crystal Catering, The Crane Bay has become quite the event venue.
