So many of Madrid’s buildings look like castles, you’ll think you’ve stumbled into a fairytale. Even City Hall is astounding, with its white pinnacles and neo-Gothic features. A self-guided architecture tour can begin by the great bear statue in the central Puerta del Sol. Wander by the fanciful Royal Palace before absorbing the natural beauty of Retiro Park, then visit one of the city’s many museums. You could happily cap off each day by nibbling on forkfuls of paella while sipping Spanish rioja.

A gem of a theater with that old flavor of European elegance of yesteryears. We came from NYC to the Premiere of the Cuban Zarzuela “ Cecilia Valdes”. Our excitement was shared by the packed theater. The theater is intimate enough for this kind of Genre. A horseshoe shaped upper area all in Red Velvet and Gold. A giant Chandeliers hangs from the center of the ceiling inside the Auditorium. A smaller chandelier hangs in the Lobby of the Theater. The acoustic is good and so was the viewing from our seats. I hope to come back to enjoy more Zarzuelas in the not so distant future.

The Ballet Flamenco de Madrid belongs to the Ballet Flamenco de Madrid Cultural Association. A team idea that after years of experience, preparation and research, has created a repertoire of shows that summarize their artistic knowledge. Born from the need to break the topic stating that the Spanish dance is only flamenco. It is therefore different to any other proposal in which the whole is pure protagonist of a story woven through the feelings it conveys dance
