The Piano Bar at De Luca

The De Luca Piano Bar is Cambridge's only authentic Piano Bar. Open every Friday and Saturday night from 8pm, a live singer / pianist Piano Entertainer performs the best pop music from 1950s to the present day and takes requests from the crowd, who are encouraged to sing along. There is an extensive cocktail menu available.

Visited the piano bar with a small group of work colleagues. A great opportunity to really let your hair down. Robin rattles through a wide range of musical genres in response to requests shouted out from the crowd. Fun, friendly atmosphere and superb cocktails served.

ADC Theatre

Reviewed By ruthgG8561MU

The ADC is a small theatre just off Jesus Lane which is used mainly by the Cambridge University students. They put on an amazing selection of plays and musicals. The students act, direct, do the lighting, costumes, set designs and live music. They also do late night shows, starting at 11pm, but I rarely attend as I am no longer young! These students bring their talents with them to the university. They are not all studying English, but science or philosophy or history and a whole myriad of other subjects. Productions normally run for one week - apart from the pantomime which is on for 2 weeks. The energy generated - combined with excellent directing - makes for a very entertaining evening, although I don't always agree with their adaptations of Shakespeare! However the tickets are very affordable and range from £8 to £12 depending on which night and your status. There is a bar and every student production has its own specially designed cocktail. You can also buy savoury and sweet snacks. The seating is comfortable and well arranged. The ADC also has the only safety curtain in the country that rises up rather than falling down. At least 2 or 3 times during a term, the students will put on a musical bar night. As it says in the title, this is held in the bar which has a small stage. Individuals will stand up and sing their choice from a musical - some I know and others I don't. But, their voices and the emotion they bring to their choice is amazing. When the students are on holiday, local amateur dramatic groups put on their productions. Again of a very high standard.

I recently hired the Hidden Rooms for my 40th birthday bash - as soon as we went to view I knew it was exactly the type of place i wanted for my party. I choose the cocktail bar area, it was the perfect setting, low ceiling, little booths, a good amount of floor space for people standing at the bar etc. From the moment we went to have a look the team couldn't have been more helpful, i was in email contact with Henry and Marcus constantly and they answered all questions and queries i had quickly and happily. I hired a photobooth (one recommended by them) which on the night was actually set up at the front of the other room which was empty and meant we had the entire venue. Also i had canapes from the wonderful team at Puddini (again a recommendation) who were brilliant, gorgeous food and a great team. On the night we were looked after by Marcus and Julie who was just brilliant, on arrival we were introduced to all the bar stuff to make sure they knew who i and my husband were and taken through where the booth was, where my cake had been set up etc etc (i also hired some large 40 numbers from the booth people which looked amazing.) All night Julie made sure everything was running smoothly, making sure everyone sang happy birthday before the cake was cut etc. things that can get missed at a party - to helping us with our huge number of gifts upstairs at the end of the night and even standing outside for about 20 minutes while we waited for our taxi to arrive! I could not recommend this venue more - classy, cool, well managed venue, gorgeous cocktails, it just ticks all the boxes!!

Great New Model Army concert in Dec-19. To be fair, any concert involving these guys is fantastic, as is the audience. This venue was extra-nice though. (1)Sound system was really nicely balanced, and layout nice and open for the audience. (2) the really special thing was that this is a heavy rock / punk band, and not only were we able to bring our 10 year-old daughter with us, (she loves NMA), but also the audience were so lovely about her being there, and it ended up as a really magical evening for all of us !!! THANK YOU CAMBRIDGE JUNCTION, and THANK YOU NEW MODEL ARMY !!!

What a fabulous little theatre this is as we had the most entertaining evening watching A Christmas Carol - performed as a one man show The staff made everyone feel very safe and were very welcoming The actor was incredible and had the audience laughing all through his manic performance that we were so pleased this was the show we had chosen to see Would love to return and support this fabulous place when things eventually return to some semblance of normality

Feel very privileged to have been able to watch the opening show for this years Dame Trotts Panto Palaver after what has been such a devestating year for the arts industry. This is a great theatre, always with a friendly welcome from staff. The show was typical panto and so funny, the 12 days of Christmas will never be the same again. Thank you for bringing some normality back to the festive season.

Excellent show.Amazing sound quality and lighting. An excetionally talented cast. The stage is a good size and the way it's laid out,you can see the stage perfectly. The seats are comfortable if a little stingey on leg room.Drinks and sweets available in foyer and decent toilets that were clean and well stocked. Recommend parking at Market car park as it's only £1.50 after 5pm. Really pleased that Peterborough has this venue.
