Materuni waterfall At the root of Kilimanjaro Mountain, we have a village called Materuni villages are home of Chagga and when you drive to the village they will welcome you with a smile and happiness. We are sure they wish you a good day because they already know how beautiful. From the main rode is a hike for 45 min so we will recommend that you have a good shoe. On the way to the waterfall, you will walk through the rain forest and field of banana and coffee plantation and the smell of the flowey. Your guide will tell you about the culture of Chagga and show you the flower of love and forgiveness. When you have reached the Materuni waterfall you can go and swim but remember the water is really cold. It makes sense because the water is coming from the glacier of Kilimanjaro. If you like to swim under the waterfall you can tray but the steam from the water is really strong so be careful but we know it is possible. Just have it in your mind that in Materuni you swim at your own risk.

Amazing bucket list vacation with an amazing company. We went on an 6 day safari with guide Chris. Saw every animal, stayed in great accommodations, ate wonderful food and had the time of our lives. Could not recommend Kilisa's safari more. Following our safari, we embarked upon a Kilimanjaro trek along the 7 day Lemosho route with guides Rama and Bacari and crew. Everyone was so FRIENDLY and catered to our every need (lots of needs at 15k+ feet). We successfully summited and don't think we would have without the Kilisa team looking after us. Unforgettable trip that really lifted our spirits after no traveling due to global pandemic. Everyone in Tanzania is kind, warm and welcoming. The team at Kilisa is no exception. Please consider Kilisa and guides Chris, Rama and Bacari on your safari and trek!

We had an wonderful time climbing Kilimanjaro with Twende Africa. Peter was extremely helpful and it was very easy to book and organize our trip online from the USA. When we arrived in Tanaznia we were picked up at the airport and briefed before starting our climb the next day. Our guides, porters and cook were all amazing and made the climb excellent fun. Not just a great hike, but also a cultural experience with amazing food! We finished our climb a day early and Peter took as on a free city tour in Moshi on our extra day. I would recommend Twende Africa to anyone!

Would you like to see a different side of Kilimanjaro? Would you like to visit a coffee farm and help make a pot of coffee from scratch?! If the answer is yes then this is the route for you. About two hours outside of Arusha is the village of Materuni, home of the Materuni waterfalls made up of snow run-off from Kilimanjaro. It's an easy half hour walk to see the falls. After viewing and possibly swimming in the falls, return to the village and experience how coffee is made. Members of the Chaga tribe will show you where the coffee is grown and you will help make the best cup of coffee you have ever tasted! You will help grind it, roast it, sift it, and finally drink it. As you are approaching Moshi keep your eyes open because every so often the clouds part and you can catch a glimpse of the iconic Mt. Kilimanjaro! My favorite tour ever!
Inclusions: Lunch, Bottled water, Private transportation, All Fees and Taxes
Exclusions: Use of bicycle, Alcoholic Beverages
Had a lovely relaxing day after a bumpy ride getting there. Not hot water, but very refreshing. Little fish nibble at your dead skin! Loved it.

Nestled in the patchwork foothills of magnificent Kilimanjaro lies the beautiful village of Materuni, home to our Chagga friends and famous for its aromatic, rich coffee. On this fragrant and fun day out you’ll hike the short but challenging route to the Materuni Falls and you can stand under the waters as they cascade into a tranquility pool that’s safe for bathing. And you’ll want to jump straight in – after getting sweaty (ok, glowing!) from your hike, there’s nothing more soothing than floating in the cool waters. Next you'll get a chance to make your own cup of coffee the proper way and you’ll find out the secret to the perfect cup of coffee from the local Chagga people. Enjoy your packed lunch after your swim and get ready to get back to town from this memorable experience of Materuni village.
Inclusions: Bottled water, Lunch, Private transportation, All Fees and Taxes, Coffee is included., Local Guide
Exclusions: Personal items, Gratuities / “tip” for guide/driver
We travelled for our honeymoon and didn't have any idea of how to get to the city from the airport but after make a booking with Pick & Drop Transfers they made it even amazing as they showed up earlier at arrivals waited for us processing our visa though we took a bit longer but the driver was still there until we come out and get our ride smoothly to the hotel. Friendly driver with a lot of information about the city and what to do around. We would recommend this to anyone travelling to Kilimanjaro.

Safari in Tanzania is one of the things you must do in life. It’s such a mind-blowing experience. Imagine seeing all kind of animals living in harmony, having their own world. Imagine getting so close to a lion and have a face to face moment. I was so lucky to meet Gea and take the decision of going on a safari with his tour. Everything was amazing according to the budget which was half the price everywhere else. The campsite was clean, staff were hospitable and the food was good. The driver was patient and keen to show us everything. I was really impressed with the African show and music at night- was such a surprise. I really recommend Moana tours because the owner is a genuine person who cares about making people happy not rip them off, which is not the case with most of safari tours.
