My family of four ( my husband and sons 25 and 21) just returned from our first visit to Mexico City. We unanimously agreed that our day with Beto and Jorge was one of our best vacation days ever! The day started with Jorge leading the group of 8 on a tour of a local market- that was both educational and delicious. We learned about the incredients we would cook and sampled amazing local specialties. Jorge then led us back to Casa Jacaranda, stopping along the way to sample tortillas and chocolate. Next stop- the breathtakingly beautiful home of Beto and Jorge. They are masterful chefs and teachers who engaged everyone in the group, ensuring that we each played a key part in preparing the meal. Hours later we sat down for cocktails, home made tacos and other appetizers. We then moved to their beautiful terrace to enjoy the feast we prepared with perfectly paired wine and great conversation! This experience was so much more than a cooking class- it is a unique opportunity to experience the hospitality, warmth and wit of Beto and Jorge who make you feel very quickly like old friends!

Immerse yourself into Mexico's extraordinary food culture through our cooking experiences, including traditional Mexican cooking hands-on workshops, market visits, gastronomic experiences and guided tastings. Enjoy an intimate Barragan inspired cooking studio, located in the eclectic Roma Norte neighborhood, hosted by Chef Graciela Montano.
Four of us (husband, son, friend and I) took the salsa making class and market tour. It was a fantastic experience. First we had a review of Mexican cooking, then a very thorough market tour complete with sampling everything from fresh made corn and flour tortilla’s to crunchy grass hoppers, taco’s, ice cream, and cacao. We then returned to Graciela’s lovely kitchen to make 10 salsa’s from mild to very ????! The lunch consisted of pork, cochinita pibil, eggs, artesanal beer, mescal and more! Don’t eat much before this class as the market food samples and lunch are delicious and filling! Highly recommend this cooking school as it was the highlight of our trip.

I really loved my experience here. I got to meet several teachers while I was there and found they all where very educated, knew their craft, and wanted all of us to succeed. Learning a new language isn’t always easy and it really helped knowing I had partners at the school who created an environment that really helped us all learn. Class sizes aren’t that big, and they also have a great private tutoring program and remote lessons (after you’re done). Check them out if you need to learn Español.
