Nearby, couples and families stroll the beaches of Cape Sim and Sidi Kaouki, which also attract surfers of all types. At the entrance of the old medina, in a former almond warehouse, l'Atelier Madada welcomes you under its stone arches. By small groups (8 persons maximum) and supervised by a professional team (a cook and a trilingual presenter) our hosts discover the secrets of Moroccan gastronomy and are initiated into the delights of one of the best cuisine in the world. In a friendly and casual atmosphere, those half-day workshops teach each participant how to prepare a full traditional meal that one can then easily reproduce at home.

Khadija and Hussein welcomed our group of 6 (3 cooks, 3 diners) into their tidy, well organised home and walked us through preparing a wonderful 3 course meal that included a warm salad, tajine, bread, briouat and fruit. They were warm and friendly and shared their deep knowledge of Moroccan cuisine and culture. One of the highlights of our trip and an unreserved recommendation.

My name is latifa. Moroccan nationality. I love to prepare traditional plas, I like to share my experience with strangers.
Latifa is an amazing cook! She is very welcoming and friendly, easy to chat with. It was just myself and my partner today. Latifa met us at our hostel and we went into the markets to buy ingredients for our dishes after discussing what we wanted to make. She even explained to us how the bakers make their bread. Then we took a taxi with her back to her house where we began preparing the food. She is very hands on and gives great explanations. Very open to our silly questions! As someone who is a picky eater, I was very nervous about this whole thing but the food was so delicious even I ate as much as I could! We made the eggplant salad, lamb tagine and apple cake. We had mentioned that we were interested in the moroccan soup and she explained that we could make that as well if we wanted, but we decided we already had enough food. She is great to practise Arabic with and all round is a wonderful hostess. She even sent us all the recipes by WhatsApp after. This has been the highlight of the trip and one of the best experiences we have had. If you would like a real introduction to moroccan life and especially the food - come spend some time with Latifa! The best moroccan food you will ever have - and you'll even cook it yourself!

This day was by far my most favourite day in Marocco. After spending several hours with Latifa I felt that I was finally completely arriving in Marocco! Not only is she a great cook and instructor but also a nice companion for good conversations. She opens all her heart and let’s you take part in her culture! Besides her qualities as a great person, the food we cooked was just fantastic!! We chose the dishes we wanted to cook (even did 2 mains and cancelled desert without extra payment!) and went to the market with her to get the ingredients. To see Latifa interact with the people and the prices she was paying showed me the way to handle things in Marocco in the future. Sitting in the kitchen with her mother and her sister cooking and chatting was just an amazing atmosphere and a feeling of being at Home. We prepared traditional Tagine on open chole, royal Couscous (fantastic!!!) and a Barukola salad. It was so tasty that we openend our pants so we could continue enjoying it. Not to mention her special mixture of tea which was so unique!! If you search for delicious food, amazing recipes and tricks and a warm welcome to this foreign culture; Latifa is the perfect address to get it all!!!
