Stretching along the southern side of Italy's Sorrentine Peninsula, the Amalfi coast dazzles with its mysterious grottos, craggy cliffs and shimmering bays. Grab a seat on the sea side of a regional bus to soak up views on the fabled route from artsy Positano to Amalfi. Ravello offers some respite from the crowds, plus the stunning Villa Cimbrone, which overlooks the Bay of Salerno. The historic section of Sorrento has winding streets filled with craftspeople. Capri is only a hydrofoil or ferry ride away.

What an adorable family! I heard about this world-famous cooking school in Ravello, on the hills of the picturesque coastline of the Amalfi Coast, that got the prestige because of the adorable, heart-warming Chiara, “the chatterbox”, and her husband Gennaro, “the super chef” by creating stunning, authentic Italian recipes passed down from Mamma Agata. Not only is the food to die for, but the energy of the experience is one of my life’s highlights. If you are planning on a trip there, this is an absolute must! But it books out, so be sure to book in advance. I think with Covid restrictions, you can only book for online classes currently. But when things lift, I've been twice and couldn't recommend anything more if you're visiting the area after an authentic feed. Delizioso!

Spend a very personal day with Chef Vincenzino in Ravello. After many years as chef/owner of a restaurant, he decided to run a cooking school from his home, enjoying the people who love food, and "eat it with the heart and not just the mouth!" You will start with a visit to the little food shops located in the historic alley of Ravello, strolling through the pedestrian road that crosses the village. Along with Vincenzino, who speaks perfect English, you will meet with the owners of the small shops and be shown how the local people choose their fish, special homemade pasta, vegetables, and local and national wines. Together, you will decide what to buy and cook for your lesson. Then it is on to Vincenzino's home, gloriously situated on a clifftop 350 meters above sea level. You will proceed with the hands-on preparation of your lunch, from the starters to the dessert, wine, water and coffee included. Weather permitting, lunch will be served on the terrace to enjoy the spectacular view of the Mediterranean. The day begins between 9-10am and ends after your meal in the afternoon. US$210. per person, minimum two people

I had the most amazing 7 days in Positano attending the Cooking Vacations school with hosted by Lauren and Rino. The accomodation was perfect and the whole experience was faultless. I learnt so much and ate so much, and being a single traveller Lauren and Rino went out of their way to make sure I was well taken care of at all times. The restaurant was beautiful and the head chef a great teacher. The tour to Capri and the road trips around Amalfi were also a wonderful experience. Highly recommend every aspect of this tour and the lovely Lauren and Rino. I will be back.

This class was a gift from our son and daughter in law - best present ever. Loved the food we prepared and the fact that it is reproducible at home. It was easy to follow with lots of opportunities to interact with the chefs. It was very efficiently run and I felt I learned a lot in the 2 hours we had there. A must do if you like to cook.or eat!

Ideal for those who want to have, in one lesson, the basis to start giving the impression of a great cuisine to their dishes. The peculiarity, compared to the theoretical courses, is given by an active participation of the students in the preparation of the entire menu. The lesson begins in the organic garden, where the participants, together with the chef, harvest the vegetables that will then use in the preparation of dishes. Duration: 3 hours approx - Location: typical rustic kitchen. It includes the preparation and tasting of the menu with ¼ bottle of local wine and ½ mineral water
I bought the cookery class as a birthday present for my husband and it was an amazing experience which we will never forget. Vincenzo was a wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable teacher and we have left full of tips and tricks which we will use cooking back home. We had a hands on mozzarella making experience, then picked fresh ingredients from the incredible gardens before preparing our four course meal step by step. We had such a brilliant time and loved chatting to Vincenzo over our delicious meal about his fascinating past and passion for food and Ravello. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

My sister and I booked the Classic Cooking Class direct through Amalfi Lemon Experience. We were picked up in the cart near the paper factory and driven to the driveway entry to the property. The cooking class was a group class with 6 visitors total (including the 2 of us). We had such an amazing time prepping and cooking together with Ramona, the instructor, and the other guests. Spending time working together really bonds the group together and everyone stayed long after the food was cleared to talk and enjoy each others company. Lots of prosecco and wine to go around during cooking and during eating, plus limoncello, of course. The lemon farm is beautiful with an abundance of huge Amalfi lemons. The cooking lessons and the finished dishes were super! We spent the evening after the class writing notes about the preparations and now that we are home, we have prepared lemon pasta, Amalfi-style eggplant parmesan and lemon tiramisu for the rest of the family. We truly enjoyed the time spent at the class and it was definitely worth the price and was the highlight of our trip.
