10 City Tours in Vancouver That You Shouldn't Miss

November 7, 2021 Mikaela Didonna

Vancouver was founded as “Gastown” by an Englishman with a penchant for beer and storytelling. Today Gastown is a historic section of the Canadian metropolis, and the lively pubs still reflect the area’s former status as a sort of community drinking center. The city’s forests, grand parks, and impressive suspension bridge beckon travelers to explore them, as do the city’s shops and museums. Relive the glory of the 2010 Winter Games with visits to Olympic venues and the marvelous Olympic Cauldron.

Michael is a knowledgeable guide and we enjoyed our tour. Snack packs were a nice touch - but also a necessity when lunch comes at the end of all the tastings. Our fault for not reading the description as closely as we should have before booking, but we were shocked to find that the tasting fees were not included for the price that we paid. Also a little dismayed to find another couple on the trip benefitting by not having to pay a tasting fee because of the wine I purchased - while members in our party still were charged.

Vancouver winter means ski season, festivals, funky light events and new trails to explore.Just because it’s colder doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be outside.Grouse Mountain is one of the top Vancouver points of interest. Some people prefer skiing or snowboarding at Grouse Mountain in Vancouver since it’s the closest to downtown but that does make it a little bit busier than some of the other local hills. If you’re not in to skiing or snowboarding it’s almost worth going up to Grouse Mountain in winter just for the view of the city lights and the other awesome winter activities that go on up there Trying at least one outdoor activity this winter is a must do in Vancouver. Below are some of the best outdoor and indoor activities in Vancouver this winter. 1) Peak of Christmas in Grouse Mountain 2) Head to the Vancouver Christmas Market 3) Bright light in the Stanley Park 4) Experience CandyTown in Yaletown 5) Shop at the Craft Winter Market 6) Go ice skating downtown 7)Enjoy Granville

Absolutely fantastic tour of the magnificent park we’ve enjoyed living close to all our lives. Not only enjoyed learning the history and hearing the tales but also the time Glenn our guide, took to explain the workings of nature’s systems at play in our beloved magnificent rain forest. We were engaged throughout and couldn’t believe how quickly the two hour experience passed. Can’t recommend this tour enough for visitors and locals alike. Glenn was fantastic, knowledgeable, entertaining and really made the experience a memorable one for my daughter and myself. We’re hoping you consider expanding the tour schedule to perhaps include the other side of the park as we’d very much like to book for “Secrets of Stanley Park Part 2”!

I traveled on business between Vancouver and Victoria during the pandemic. Harbour Air is my first choice when traveling between Vancouver and Vancouver Island, but after seeing all the precautions they have taken to help me feel safe, I can only recommend them more and more times. Thanks to my pilots Steve and Francisco and to all the helpful front counter agents.
