Warm family friendly, place of worship. All welcome young and old. A place to find peace, encouragement, joy and above all to meet with God through passionate worship and praise. Our service begins at 10:30 each Sunday morning but we are also open through the week for mums and tots group, youth club, food bank, and we run an Alpha course for those interested to know more about Jesus.

For over 1000 years, people have been gathering in this holy place to offer their prayers and praise to Almighty God. As they still do every day. It’s difficult to tell from a website, but here we are located right in the centre of the city, surrounded by shops and businesses, with people passing our doors as they go about their daily life. Many of those people stop by to light a candle, say a prayer, or spend a moment of stillness and calm.
Great place. The cathedral cafe is open, and Covid safe, lovely open peaceful spacious place, more tables than when I last visited, looks good. The coffee & food (breakfast and lunch -they close by 4) very reasonably priced considering how nice it is. It’s the the more modern bit of the building accessed via the gateway under the trees. I think you can get to it from inside the cathedral too. Looks like the shop element is on hold in favour of creating space for the cafe - but a few souvenirs available.

Bradford's beautiful Cathedral is a hidden jewel waiting to be discovered. Set in tranquil gardens the Cathedral is alive with a sense of story from its thirteen centuries at the heart of the city. This, the third church on the site, is over 500 years old, with twentieth century additions. Bradford's most ancient place of worship is friendly, peaceful and fascinating, with many special features. The Cathedral is home to some of William Morris' earliest stained glass: there is bronze and embroidery designed by Ernest Sichel: sculpture by Flaxman, Alan Collins and John Shaw: impressive windows and delightful woodcarvings: and an active arts programme provides a rich feast of drama, exhibitions and literary events to please the eye and inspire the imagination.
I visited Bradford Cathedral for the first time this week. Although there was a half term event on for children and carers, what struck me most was the quiet and serene atmosphere. It was possible to find a peaceful corner to sit and absorb the atmosphere. The building itself is light and welcoming, with side chapels, some William Morris windows and plenty of interesting inscriptions to the deceased worthies of the town. The accessible toilets are well kept and the “greeters” are helpful and friendly but not overly obtrusive. Bradford cannot match the “great” cathedrals such as Salisbury and Ely for historical interest and the quality of the monuments etc, but it is special in its own way and I shall visit again. It seems to be a very active church and has a good programme of talks, worship, musical events etc.
