Together with 20 fellow passengers from the Azamara Journey Cruise Ship - which had arrived in Aarhus earlier that morning -- I travelled 45 minutes by coach to Randers to - amongst other things - visit the Impressive St Morten’s Church in the town centre. We almost didn’t get into the Church (which normally opens at 1100 hours) but a nice Church Warden facilitated our early entry. Once inside the Church - which dates back to 1520 - it is hard not to be impressed with the large organ (first installed in 1751 but which has had several rebuilds since then - the latest of which was in 1994 deliberately timed to link in with the Churc’s 500th Anniversary), Altar, Font, Wood Carvings and the very interesting Church Ships. All in all, this was 30 minutes well spent in a Church that has no shortage of history and one that has been extremely well maintaine.
