Getting its name from the medieval Duchy of Limburg (now split among Holland, Belgium and Germany and the birthplace of the infamously pungent Limburger cheese), Limburg is the Netherlands’ southernmost region. Many of the area’s best attractions are concentrated in the capital of Maastricht, but other sights include the 12th-century Valkenburg castle ruins, the 17th-century Eijsden castle, the 20th-century Glaspaleis (built next to a medieval church at Heerlen), and De Meinweg National Park.

Very well restored cathedral, which has evolved from Romanesque to early Gothic to full-blown Gothic - and has a lot of remarkable treasures on display.

We reached at thorn in eve, the moment we entertaining the MOST mesmerising white village welcoming us by its own heritage beauty, The lonely & pieceful road The less crowded restaurant ???? Must go for walk near lake while at thorn it's most beautiful Must visit the church ( it's around 800 year old & the AURA inside the church you feel highly spiritual, we feel personally so ) try to seat for minimum 30 mintuts inside ) If you going thorn, try cycle rout from thorn to roermond ( it's just wow wow ) take camera with you for sure , In short we been so many places at Holland via car all are good but no match of thorn ( if you like spiritual inner pieces ????)
