You've probably heard that Guinness tastes better in Dublin (fresh from the factory), but what you may not know is that Dublin is a perfect destination for the whole family. No, we're not suggesting you let the kiddies drink a pint. Instead, take them to the Dublin Zoo, to feed the ducks in Stephen's Green or on a picnic in Phoenix Park. Scholars enjoy walking in the literary footsteps of such writers as Yeats and Joyce, while discerning shoppers have their pick of designer boutiques.

This old Dublin catholic Church was built in 1829, with the portico and tower added in 1860 to the design of John Leeson. The church was designed to have a spire which was never built. Leeson built the dome in response to criticism by architectural purists. The church was paid for by the Parish Priest Fr. Flanagan, an amateur sculptor, some of whose work may be seen here. Higher in quality is the 'pieta' commissioned by Fr. Flanagan and carved by John Horgan, who also carved the angels but not their wings which were added by a later priest.
