East Java (Indonesian: Jawa Timur, abbreviated as Jatim, Javanese: Jåwå Wétan) is a province of Indonesia. Located in eastern Java, it includes the island of Madura, which is connected to Java by the longest bridge in Indonesia, the Suramadu Bridge, as well as the Kangean and Masalembu archipelagos located further east and north, respectively. Sukarno's tomb is impressive, and so is the museum and the entire complex! There is a massive tourist market at the exit of the tomb that sells all kinds of Sukarno and Indonesian political souvenirs. My husband and I were the only non-Indonesians at the site and were treated with great hospitality and curiousity.
