Ewens Ponds is a series of three water-filled limestone sinkholes on Eight Mile Creek 25 kilometres (16 mi) south of Mount Gambier and 8.4 kilometres (5.2 mi) east of Port Macdonnell, South Australia. The ponds are popular with recreational divers due to underwater visibility of up to 80 metres (260 ft).
Hire wetsuits, and all the gear from east Allendale general store. Friendly staff, clean and new gear, well priced. The water is freezing but when suited up you could stay in for hours....though you can only stay in for 1 hour. You need to book your snorkel or dive with parks SA. and you book a time slot as a minimum of 2 people can go and a max of 6 each hour. Wonderful experience, gentle current takes you through the 3 ponds/sinkholes. Great clarity. A must do

Beautiful rugged, stunning coastline along this whole area! Then Woolshed Cave is huge and well worth the walk down the stairs and along the rocks to get too.

The caves have preserved an outstanding fossil collection. The Wonambi Fossil Centre offers visitors the opportunity to discover what the area was like over 200,000 years ago.
Got there at 9.15 and could book all 3 tours for the morning. After a friendly cafe lunch we self guided around the other cave system and the museum...can honestly say it kept 3 teenagers and 2 adults entertained until 2pm!!! Highly recommend!!

This is a small cave, but definitely worth taking a look at. Easily accessible, I believe it is the only cave that can accommodate wheelchair access. Our guide was very informative, and we learnt a lot about stalactites and stalagmites, how they are formed, and the age of some in this cave. Overall very spectacular and well worth the visit.

This is a local secret and one of my favourite places to swim, so refreshing. Some big blow flies that bite, so better in the water than out Hidden Gem

The only cave that can be visited on self guided tour. The best cave for young families or people who get claustrophobic as you can leave easily. Great value for money at $10. Located close to car park so easy to visit while waiting for Alexandra cave tour

In the heart of the city near the library a stunning rose garden at the entrance. A cave garden with balcony's overlooking from the sides. At night coloured lights project across the cave. (But unfortjnately the additional sound and light show was not running due to vandalism whilst we visited) Visited sever times, its free Its beautiful
