Castillo de Loarre

Reviewed By billmatthiesen - Lanesboro, United States

We had a wonderful 6 hour excursion with Carlos Diaz of Viajar por Aragon to El Castillo de Loarre, with stops along the way at Mallos de Riglos (scenic high cliffs) and L'Eglise de Santiago, a lovely little 12th century church out in the country. Carlos was personable, has a comfortable van, speaks good English (though we were mostly practicing our Castellano with him), and he has interesting knowledge about Aragon and these sites. The excursion was very reasonably priced at 120 euros for two of us. The Castle is very well preserved and an exceptional example of fortifications from the 11th century. Carlos also runs excursions to other sites around Zaragoza.
