10 Campgrounds in Lower Saxony: Best hotel deals for 2023

April 25, 2023 Rosalyn Ihle

Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen in German) in Germany's northwest is the country's second-largest state in terms of size and its fourth population-wise. Home to Hannover and several other larger cities, the area is treasured for its natural beauty, as well, with diverse terrain that includes coastline, flatlands, rolling hills and woodlands. Both the wildlife-filled Harz Mountains in the south and the East Frisian Islands off the northern coast are beloved by Germans and visitors alike.

Still under construction & cash only

Brand new camper park with main building still under construction. Upon checking out, no credit accepted so we needed to go to an ATM in town. We rented a two level house with camper parking next to it. House was clean and looked brand new, even not entirely finished yet. OK for one overnight stay but wouldn’t stay any longer.

Blauer See Garbsen

Good!

The Blauer See in Garbsen is a great lake in which you can do wakeski, wakeskate and wakeboarding or just chill out! But you can also just swim there and relax in the sun. The prices are okay and you can eat there.

This was an amazing place at night. The sundown was totally awesome. The beach was great you could walk around with your love or family. Good value for money. And we did have a good night sleep. So quiet and you could hear the nature. We will come back.

Camping Park Luneburger Heide

A charming pearl that must be visited!

Reviewed By 73Tess

We have stoped here a couple of times on our way back to Sweden. The quality of the bath room and toilets are the best I´ve experienced. The camp ground has a very charming atmosphere with lots of things to see. Take a walk round the place and experience all the little things. The butterfly garden, the rabbit and goat park, the little pound for (mostly) the kids to play in and if you come along with kids, don't miss the three wheel bikes for rent! The restaurant is also very worth a visit and if you perhaps like snaps, do try the "Heidegeist" that is a local herbal liqueur. The snaps is sold in the camp ground information that also sells bread and things you might need.

Campingplatz Hameln an der Weser

Indeed an eye-opener of a sanitary block.

Reviewed By Charles B

The site indeed has the best, most well-appointed wash/toilet facilities that, outside of a high end hotel, I have ever experienced. The showers, for example, are solid stone, decorated with differently shaded tiles and have a little alcove to place the necessaries; childish delights but it was like bathing in a Roman villa and all scrupulously clean. However, more to the point, the site is sited on the banks of the Weser, feels spacious and is well maintained. After a short walk, one is in the old town which is of text book German charm, a beautiful and relaxing place. We stayed for only two days, as we were on our way elsewhere, so cannot comment on Hameln’s suitability as a base but we would highly recommend both the campsite and the town.

Very good camping close to Celle.

This is the best camping we have ever been to. The sanitary and laundry room was clean and comfortable. It felt just like home. The RV pitch was excellent, and the staff was very kind and helpfull. There were facilities for kids, and located 11km from Celle. We shall return.

Very nice camp

Reviewed By Romana K

Excellent stay, very helpful and kind stuff! New toilletes and showers. I totally recomend this place. About 1,5 kilometr to the city centre and supermarkets. There are also lots of restaurants and caffes. Pub in the camp is little bit overpriced (Beer for 4 €) but also very nice.

Super Stellplatz, Gastfreundlichkeit

Reviewed By marcbornschein123

Dieser CP ist echt gut. Brötchenservice, Duschen warm und Sanitär sauber. CP liegt an vielen Radwegen in alle Richtungen an.
