Think of this region as the Southern Hemisphere's Switzerland, where snow-capped peaks, dozens of deep mountain lakes and emerald valleys create a fairy-tale landscape. Stretching from the Bio Bio River to the northern edge of Patagonia, it's home to picturesque German-influenced villages like Frutillar, Puerto Octay and Puerto Varas, plus wildlife-rich Vicente Perez Rosales National Park. The culture and handicrafts of the native Mapuche Indians are found in the northern areas around Temuco.

We experience the Dome with hot tub and it was very nice. I recomend getting the all-inclusive option. The nature in the are is just amazing. We went all the way to some craters and the view of the Andes was breathtaking.

The cabanas has fully loaded kitchens and a small common area downstairs, so it’s nice if you plan on cooking your own food and hanging out there a bit. The rooms were upstairs and bathrooms downstairs, which isn’t optimal but manageable. They were very clean. I didn’t like they locked the second room because we could have used the storage space. Also our heater/wood burning furnace was definitely not capable of keeping the cabin warm....we were freezing! I think it may not have been working right though, so hopefully this is resolved. Otherwise, it’s a good place for a few days and very private with a good view. Note it’s a bit far from Cruz del Sur bus terminal, but right next to Tur Bus terminal.

We are a family business established in early 1994 because Osorno did not have an alternative to the need arose in the area such as tourist cabins, service dedicated exclusively to family groups and tourists.
If you do not pay in USD, you will be charged an additional 19% tax on the room! You can pay in USD using a credit card or using cash. If you pay with a credit card, you must have your passport ***and the slip of paper that was given to you at customs when you arrived in Chile***. If you pay in cash, make sure your bills are in mint condition. The receptionist originally told me she would not accept my payment because some of the bills had writing on them or a small black mark on the edge- she said their bank will not accept them. Eventually she did accept them, but I'm not sure if other travelers will have the same luck. Heat and hot water both functional. The evening receptionist was very nice and helpful. A nice breakfast was delivered to the room at no additional cost.

We arrived on a dismal, dark winter evening after a long bus journey and were greeted by a roaring fire in the wood burning stove and a very warm and cosy cabin. The owner went out of his way to help us, all other staff we met were lovely too. We woke up with the tide in, water below us and black necked swans feeding. Wish we could have stayed longer, great value for money and regular buses into Castro. A memorable stay and I would recommend.

Cabañas del Teatro offers pet-friendly accommodation in Frutillar. Puerto Octay is 21.4 km away. Free private parking is available on site. There is a seating and/or dining area in some units. There is also a kitchen, fitted with an oven, microwave and fridge with freezer. A toaster and kettle are also available. Towels and bed linen are featured. Llanquihue Lake is 600 m from Cabañas del Teatro. El Tepual Airport is 34 km away. From Cabanas del Teatro you can walk to Teatro del Lago, Colonos museum and to diferent restaurants and cafes
Very considerate owner and nice staff. We spent the honey moon in Fruitiller. Knowing this, the cabaña arranged a lot of candles and flower petals in the room to gave us a surprise and an unforgettable honey moon experience. Knowing that we want to do an asado, the cabaña arranged us an electronic grill without us even asking. An awesome place for family and couples!

We stayed two nights. The room was small, in the main floor, with a private bathroom, near to the breakfast room, but still quiet. The room was clean and warm (the nights in Ancud are fairly cold even in summer). Not a great place, just a decent one to stay when passing by this city. The parking lot is at the end of a step narrow parking entrance, and it was small and with no room after the one large tour bus and a couple of cars. The place has no attractions by itself and no restaurant. There is nothing to do in the hotel (except we saw people from the bus playing cards in the breakfast room), just to spend the nights and have breakfast. Breakfasts were good, not great with, tea, coffee, eggs, and some local breads and kuchen (a southern Chilean cake).

The room was fully equipted. It had a kitchen that, even though was small, had everything we needed to cook; the hot water worked with no problems; and we had a heating system and a fan (that worked quite well to cool down the room). It has a secure parking space that you can enter and leave any time you want because they give you the controller to open the gate. The only two problems that we had were that the bed covers were a bit too tight to fit the mattress, and that the reception was not always working during the time it was supposed to be open (this made check out a bit complicated) but overall a great place

Matapiojo Lodge is located in beautiful, unspoiled Patagonia. We built the lodge at the base of a sheer rock face along the Futaleufu River, a place where condors fly by day. Strategically located for easy access to a wide diversity of Chile’s best lake and river fishing, the lodge embraces the concept of “glamping,” in wall tents, merging hotel quality accommodations while
We stayed for 9 nights in this most amazing location. The accommodation is very comfortable overlooking the Futuleufu river. We loved the wood burning stove in our tent. So peaceful with astonishing scenery. Francisco and all staff were fabulous and welcoming. They could not have done more. Food was absolutely delicious! We received the best attention with wonderful fishing trips also exciting white-water rafting and amazing horse treking. We did not want to leave. Thank you all so much!
