Out of Season

We stayed 8 nights. We are a large rig and were glad of a site in this lovely area that could take us - and with hard standing. I think the site was officially closed, but would take campers with prior agreement. Lovely green site. Good showers. Electricity repeatedly tripped as only 6amps which is a pain in winter! Wifi not that good but we were out on the edge of the site. Bar served a wonderful gin and tonic!! Site is under new management which is upgrading the facilities.

It looks good.... on photos

Reviewed By 6jareks

This place is amazing.... on photos. It’s good for a one night stay and instagram, but in reality it’s a cheap-chic. After seeing the photos and reading numerous articles in magazines you expect something of a better quality and standard. The quality of interior declarations is very low, things fall out into pieces. The best example of it is the wine fountain - yes you can drink wine directly from a wall, but it’s the cheapest, undrinkable one. The same with bikes - they are not suitable for cycling even the lowest hills and badly maintained, some of the parts are missing. On the positive side, Tatiana who is the manager of this place is the brightest thing there. She does what she can to make up for everything that's wrong. I have a feeling that the owner doesn't have problem with cutting corners and only focusing on making money vs. providing and experience for the guests. Breakfast - paying 175 for a night you would expect something better. The breakfast buffet is the same every day. Filtered coffee and products from Macro and the local supermarket. This is frustrating because the owner is bragging about the culinary experiences you get at the Molino in the design magazines. (see the Vogue photo). It's nowhere close to "de la huerta". I feel cheated. Room. The room wasn’t very clean, but it’s hard to tell because of the poor lighting. It was cleaned ones during our five day stay. There is no reading light at the bed, only paper ikea lamps which don’t give enough light - they might be good for the atmosphere but not practical at all. There was a bad smell in the room coming from the sewage pipes. There is no place to put your clothes. The floor was painted black and the paint is coming of the tiles. Cooking facilities - there is a “kitchenette” in the room but in reality it was not designed for cooking. There is no place to cut anything, no cutting board, no kettle, no decent knife. Sauna - it’s a joke, just look at the photo. It stinks. All in all, Molino is highly overpriced and pretending to be a place it is not.

Nice spot!

Reviewed By Si0bhan_C2013

Lovely little campsite, only 40 minutes walk from Santillana del Mar or a 5 minute drive. The walk feels a bit dodgy because it's on a main road. On the same road but in the other direction there are some bars and restaurants for dinner. Camp site was nice and clean and a good price (2 adults with a van was €25 for the night). The woman at reception was very nice and helpful. If you visit, make sure to check out the amazing bakery just up the road. Take a right when you come out of the campsite and it's less than 10 minutes walk on the other side of the road.

Really Nice campsite in an amazing location

Reviewed By Harry H

We were really impressed by this campsite, the staff particularly Jaun (who spoke excellent English) were very welcoming and helpful, the facilities were clean and tidy with plenty of hot water in the showers. There are many full time and Spanish weekenders but we found them very friendly and they only add to the atmosphere. What makes this place extra special though was the lovely pool with its epic backdrop of mountains. There can be few better-located campsites anywhere. There is a little road noise but that does die down early and is only a minor distraction. Other positive comments are that the campsite WiFi is free and excellent and there are some really great walks (we walked to the beautiful village of Mogrovejo) on your dorstep.

Basic site, Clean facilities but cramped

Reviewed By Grandad_Sticky

The site is on the coast line. Layout is a little random and you do feel jammed in. Facilities are basic but clean. It has the feel of being in a field rather than a segmented site. It does have a bar and basic restaurant. Pizzas are good.

Rip off

We stayed at this camping 10 nights because we liked the location for surfing but for the rest we where very upset. At easter with a lot of guests and hight season everything was ok but also then there was cold water for the dishwashing. But the week after, when there where not so many people at the camping the water in the shower was cold even when i asked for it or only one shower was hot but so hot that it burned you. The toilets and showerarea havn't been cleaned for nearly one week! When we asked for a refund for one night because we left earlier there was no possibility. The restaurant was just open on easter and the whole complex is run loveless!
