10 Campgrounds in Andalucia: Best hotel deals for 2023

April 26, 2023 Jana Sager

Distinctive architecture, sun-drenched resorts and eclectic small towns dot Andalusia, a dry, mountainous region of southern Spain that maintains echoes of its Moorish occupation. Spring and fall bring balmy temperatures, ideal for visiting Seville's cathedral, the world's largest Gothic structure, and the 1,200-year-old mosque in Córdoba. Romantics love Granada, home to the fortress of Alhambra and an inspiration to the late poet Federico García Lorca. Don't miss a dip in the sea along the Costa del Sol.

CASA VAGON VIA VERDE DE LA SIERRA

They are located in the old railway station of Olvera. These apartments offer a different form of stay, sleep in an old car train surrounded by nature. Apartments recreate the carriages of the train which sought to make the journey from the railway Jerez - Almargen in the 19TH century, but which was never performed. Each wagon has a surface area of about 50 square meters and consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 kitchen (fully equipped) and a small porch. One of them is adapted for people with disabilities. The complex has an outdoor swimming pool of salt water of 11.5 x 5.5 meters long, with artificial turf in your environment. Air conditioning in all areas, free Wi-Fi... The old station of the railroad of Olvera, today is situated right next to the apartments, houses a hotel - restaurant. We also offer discount on the rental of bicycles for the Vía Verde de la Sierra.

Good for visiting Granada

Reviewed By alansok

Stayed 4 nights. The pitches are small but that is common in Spain and we were happy with our space - enough to set up table and chairs outside. Toilets were clean and the showers were one of the best we had on our trip. We ate twice at the restaurant - one very good experience and one not so good but maybe we chose the wrong food! Lots of restaurants and shops a short walk up the hill from the campsite in La Zubia. Bus stop outside every 30 minutes into Granada centre. Would stay again.

Lovely clean campsite. What I really liked is that each camping spot is secluded by trees for privacy. A lovely experience. There's a traditional cafe/ restaurant on the opposite side of the road, economical prices and great views.

Located by the natural park of Las Breñas the camping offers quiet (less quiet the weekend but still bearable) and spacious places for camping, whether in camping car or caravan. Helpful, professional and nice staff. Clean toilets and shower area, not crowded at any time. A place to come back ASAP!

Must if you want to look in the town

Reviewed By Snitch2014

We stayed 3 nights over a weekend to make the most of the events going on in El Rocio. Pitches good size, sadly for us the rain had been falling a few days beforehand so it was mud everywhere. The ground is rather hard on some pitches. Receptionist was friendly. Bread sold in restaurant in the morning. Showers clean and hot water.

Camping las Lomas

The granadian camping Las Lomas is situated in the village of Güejar-Sierra, a small town of exquisite beauty and enchantment. On the belvederes of the camping you will be stunned with views over the plain, the valley of de Genil river and the famous footpath of La Estrella. Besides the many places of amusement that the Sierra Nevada offers, it has in its scope the Alhambra, at 12km, the Cathedral of Granada with the tomb of the Catholic Kings at 15km and the beach of Motril at 70km.

Great location, friendly staff. Pitches need more attention - looking a little scruffy. Pool area not open ad yet. Restaurant area very nice with plenty of outdoor seating. Views from the site over the lake are amazing. Not easy to walk anywhere - need bikes, preferably electric. Toilets, showers, laundry room - all very good & clean.

Alora Yurts

A magical off grid place nestled amongst the olive trees a total escape from the pressures of everyday life. We have two beautiful hand painted Mongolian Yurts and a lovely wooden Shack for the less adventurous camper. All three units are individually furnished with an eclectic mix of delights from around the globe. All three have lush comfy beds, woodburners for those cooler evenings and are completely candlelit, very romantic. Great swimming pool and lots of different areas to chill out, 30mins to Granada or the coast

A Perfect Paradise

Reviewed By 625julese

This holiday was recommended to us by friends who told us that it was their favourite place of all the many they have visited. Having now spent a week at Alora I can confirm that what they told us was absolutely accurate. Sara and Darren seem to have created an international community of people who visit again and again drawn by their incredible hospitality and welcoming nature. No review of Alora can even begin, however, without mentioning the many rescue dogs that have a home on site. There were 8 when we visited and they were all adorable. If you’re lucky you might persuade one of them to sleep on the bed with you at night, definitely a highlight for us This small, off grid site is stunning and provides a wonderfully calming environment. Loads of day beds and outdoor sofas surround a lovely swimming pool, a welcome respite from the heat of the day. Our yurt was nestled away down a bank, giving us privacy when we wanted it and was beautifully decorated with a huge, comfortable bed, Moroccan style furnishings and was lit by candles as there is no electricity on site After a wonderful nights sleep breakfast was delivered to us every morning by Darren and we ate it whilst seated outside listening to the many birds in the area and usually accompanied by a couple of the dogs. The evening meal, which is freshly cooked by Sara, can be eaten at the yurt but the better option is to sit around the communal table with the other guests, creating a wonderfully social environment and this is frequently finished off with everyone sitting around in Sara and Darren’s living area sharing a drink with them and swapping stories. They are such good company that this just felt like a totally natural thing to do right from the first night. Many of the reviews on here have mentioned Sara’s food and there is a very good reason for this – it is truly wonderful and the portions are very generous. We were able to choose from three options at every meal and the fact that we are vegan did not faze her at all The surrounding area is lovely and it is possible to walk into the nearby town where there are a number of very nice bars and restaurants and a drive further up into the mountains will reward you with amazing views and some wonderfully beautiful villages. The historic town of Granada is only a 45 minute drive away This was truly a wonderful holiday and we were genuinely sad to leave. Sara and Darren have created a unique and very special place that we can’t wait to revisit as soon as we are able
