We spent a lovely night on Isla del Sol using a public boat from Titicaca Tourist Transport. They have 2 return services from Isla del Sol to Copacabana. One at 10AM and one at 3PM. We got on the 10AM boat which was smaller than the one we took out. They just kept packing people in and mounded all the luggage in the middle until the front passengers had no hope of an easy exit. They pushed in plastic chairs for more cramped seating and then let more people on standing at the back. The numbers were at least double the lifejackets. We got off at this point, the risk wasn't worth it. We chatted up a few private boats and came back on one of those. I strongly recommend using a private service and arranging it before you go to this peaceful place. It's only a matter of time before disaster strikes a badly overloaded boat.

The portal of Amaru Muru, also known as "Hayu Marca" or "Willka Uta", is a mystical and energetic place that exists near Lake Titicaca. An altar carved in a single piece of rock over 5 meters, surrounded by a very particular landscape and the point of reference of many mystical visitors. We will make a stop in Chucuito, a colonial town that houses remains of the "Temple of Fertility" or "Inca Uyo". The door of Amaru Muru is located inside some very curious rock formations ("Forest of stones"), it is a place of meditation for travelers. If you need to recharge nature's energies, this is your choice to visit.

After the travel quarantine went into effect, tour options in Puno disappeared. Thanks to Maria at Pacha Expeditions, I was able to enjoy a private, custom tour to La Isla de Uros. With a private boat taxi, we toured the Rio Wily and stopped at various islands learning about the native Aymara culture that exists on these islands. Maria and boat driver, Joel, both provided excellent guide services and a wealth of information on the local people. I would highly recommend the services of Maria and Pacha Expeditions for anyone interested in exploring Aymara culture in the Puno and the local Altiplano area.????

My husband and I returned shortly from our trip to Cusco and were well taken care of. Luis our point person reminded us daily about our itinerary and touched base with us after our tours ended. Every day we had different tour guides, but they were all very patient, knowledgeable and polite (Fabricio to Sacred Valley, Ceasar to Maras and Moray and Eder to Machu Picchu). I thought the price was amazing considering that it covered transportation and lodging. If purchased separately we'd end up spending slightly more. The hotel in Cusco was nice and a short walk to the town center. The hotel in Aguas Caliente was very nice but our room was the size of a closet! Overall, we enjoyed our time. Luis left us with a very thoughtful gift before we departed (a doll I was looking for). I definitely recommend Andean View Travel especially for those who want a thoroughly planned trip. This package did not leave much room for self exploration, perhaps you can add a day or two before or after if that's what you'd like.

I loved my Machu Pichu travel and especially the tour agents who helped with my transport between places.I particularly liked their help with transport. My trip was a 3 day from usa and never did I miss any planned attraction. The hotel accommodation at machu pichu could have been better for the price value but I felt transport/tour agents justified it.

We had 2 nights in the Amazon at Amazona Posadas. We packed in a lot to very little time. The lodge was beautiful and very comfortable, food was excellent. Our guide was very good but seemed a bit disinterested at times. Very knowledgeable. We then went to Cusco, had a walking tour and cooking class. Our new guide, Albero was excellent. Our cooking class with Jesus was fun, very accommodating. We then moved on to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. Highly recommend the hike at MP Mountain. Our guide was very supportive and patient! Next we then went to the Rainbow Mountain. Unfortunately, though I requested we NOT go to Vinicunca, that is where we were taken. It was very beautiful, but very crowded. I did not understand why we did not go to Palcoyo. Was told later it was not accessible due to landslides. This may have been the case, but was unhappy about the lack of transparency prior to embarking. Overall, we were very happy with our experience and grateful to have completed it before the travel restrictions were set in place for the COVID pandemic.

After a 10 day Traveling adventure with a group through another traveling group, my friend and I opted for a private tour of Rainbow Mountain! Unfortunately it snowed on the day we reserved our tour; however it was one of our most enjoyable days due to the kindness of our guide Richard. He was very informative regarding the history and culture of the area and people. We were able to see some beautiful sites on the way to and home. We met some local folks, stopped by a lovely place to eat Los Cabanas and have coffee. The food was awesome!! Richard took some beautiful photos and was patient with us when we wanted to stop to view some sights/alpacas!! The time with Cusco Holiday Peru Servicios Turisticos was one of our most favorite and memorable!! Thanks for such a wonderful time and adventure!!

We LOVED this spot...it was the highlight of our trip and we are so glad that we did it! Highly recommend the experience! Our family did not do a guided tour so I can't speak to that. We were in our personal vehicle and drove from Huanuco to Huallay. The drive took about 3 hours and most of it was the Carretera Central, the heavily-trafficked 2-lane highway that links Lima to the jungle side of Peru. We went up to 14366 feet but dropped back down to about 13500ish when we got to Huallay. Huallay is a national park with an exorbitant s/2 (about 75 cents) entrance fee,. There is parking next to the entrance. You can also request a guide for the hikes that they offer...one is a 3-hour route and the other is 5 hours. Our group preferred to just take off on our own...the route is marked fairly clearly and honestly there is a lot of just open plain so it's not hard to get your bearings and head back to the entrance. It was about 40 degrees, I think...our jungle crew was not well equipped--we were in layers with a fleece, tennis shoes, and wool hats and gloves purchased in Huanuco--but we were not too cold. The ground is marshy, so be prepared for damp feet. We also took in thermoses with hot water for mate de coca, as well as snacks. The park itself is amazing! Our kids had a fantastic time climbing and exploring and hiking. Thankfully no one got altitude sickness although we were all developing headaches by the time we left about 4 hours later. We are so very glad that we went!

I'm not sure if there were better things to see, but the ride around the city was fun. Seemed like we hit the hot spots, other than the Plaza de Armas. Not extremely impressed, but it was a good way to drive around and see the city. The stops were pretty good.
