Golden palaces, floating markets, majestic porcelain-laid spires…you've never seen a capital city quite like Bangkok. Visit Pratunam or Siam Square for premium shopping, then unwind in the European-style gardens of Dusit. Thon Buri is home to the awesome Wat Arun temple, and over in Phra Nakhon, you’ll find the Wat Pho temple of the Reclining Buddha. Savor mango sticky rice at a food stall before taking in the gilded splendor of the Grand Palace.

The Ayutthaya Experience takes you through the historical wonders of Thailand's ancient capital. Ayutthaya is dotted with ruins and grand temples, surrounded by the Chao Phraya, Pa Sak and Lop Buri Rivers. Explore Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Thailand. See sights such as, Wat Mahathat to encounter the famous Buddha head covered in tree roots. Admire beautiful remnants of murals left behind on the temple ruins. Pay a visit to Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the holiest temple with the old Royal Palace. Witness the iconic three chedis or bell-shaped pagodas. Next see Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, with its towering stupa and golden statues. Encounter rows of seated Buddhas in bright, saffron robes. Venture to Wat Chaiwatthanaram, my favourite temple with its unique Cambodian-style architecture. Here you can put on a traditional Thai outfit for a unique photo opportunity.

After spending 2 weeks in various regions of Thailand, we wrapped up our trip in Bangkok. We had one full day so wanted to see and learn as much as we could. We communicated with Nikki in advance of our trip and he was very friendly, responsive and helpful in recommending which of the many options were not to be missed. Nikki met us at our hotel and arranged tuk-tuks and taxis to get us to the various locations which was easy and fun. Our day was chock-full...we went to Pak Klong Talad flower market (beautiful!), the Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha (awe-inspiring), Wat Arun, Reclining Buddha, a longboat ride along the Choaphaya River, and China Town. Nikki shared his knowledge of the area, the sites, the people, and the history. He is outgoing and enthusiastic and he took good care of us. We enjoyed the day immensely and would absolutely recommend a tour with Nikki!

It was very interesting to see the sites of the old capital of Siam. My tour guide from Mam Holidays was Miss Siriwaritsara Petcharapan. Siri went well above and beyond the scope of a tour guide. She was a wealth of information about Ayutthaya. I would recommend the tour and Siri to everybody.

May met us at our hotel which was quite out of the way. She took us to all the significant sites and provided a very good commentary. Her English was excellent. We rode the ferry to the flower market, and a Tuk tuk to the Grand Palace. We were supposed to have a 8 hour tour but because we were jet lagged we cut it short.

Train market was actually nothing special it definitely interesting and no need to skip if it is on your way but don't expect too much. Good thing is that you don't loose much time there. At Floating Market boat ride is interesting. You can get really good photos. Take cash and negotiate the price. There is a money exchange but you need a passport with you.

3 stars are for Dui, who was really knowledgeable and great with photo-taking. Personally though, I was disappointed by the markets and felt the long journey there wasn’t worth it. As it’s quiet at the moment, stall holders were really pushy and all sold almost exactly the same tourist-y stuff- We were hoping for a more local experience which we unfortunately didn’t get. I’d also like to add a disclaimer for tourists who seek out more ethical trips as this is something we wish we knew in advance: we found it quite distressing seeing so many animals used as photo props, such as snakes which seemed at the very least to have been de-fanged and were repeatedly trying to escape, as well as slow loris’ which were basically catatonic and being kept awake during the day (they’re nocturnal animals!! And a protected species!). Ultimately, while Dui was a really good guide, I’d opt for a different tour with him knowing what I know now.

We used I Asia Thailand (we used them last year) and we rented a van with guide Woody and driver. We requested Woody after good comments and feedback. We did a 8 hour day trip and they were punctual, dressed well, excellent English and very informative. We started from Patong and made our way north before stopping for lunch and then east road back to the south to the many view points. The van was clean with great aircon and wifi!!!. We also had our own hand sanitiser and also wipes throughout the day. I would suggest and recommend I Asia Thailand to any family and friends. We would happily use their services again!
