Limitless Escape Room

Reviewed By charlynnnn

My group and I completed the Warrant escape room and absolutely loved it! Although the 4 of us were pretty squeamish, the room was perfectly immersive and filled with challenging puzzles and well timed surprises. Within our time in the room, we laughed and screamed out of bot hilarity and terror. Although we got stuck a couple times, the facilitators were helpful without giving away the answers and maintained the mood of the room while helping us along. While the room was designed incredibly, we also really enjoyed chatting with the owners after we completed the room in the debriefing. They were super friendly and laughed with us as we reviewed footage of our time in the room. Such a great way to spend an afternoon in Taipei!

Kishu An Forest of Literature

Reviewed By 619jeffry - Essendon, Australia

Kishu An was first built in 1917, during the Japanese colonial era (1895-1945). Originally it was a Japanese-style pavilion. It was built close the Xindian River and has a pleasant outlook; it became a popular social area for residents south of the city. It was designated by Taipei City as a historical site in 2004. The site has literary associations; the Taipei City Government. now operates the "Kissan Literary Forest," which has become Taipei' City's literary base. Visitors are welcome.

National Taiwan Museum Taiwan of Land Bank Exhibition Hall

Reviewed By CdnLovesTravel787 - Vancouver, Canada

One ticket gives you entry to National Taiwan Museum plus into a building across the street, called Land Bank of Taiwan Bank Museum. Despite the National Taiwan Museum appearing very old and grand inside and out, the only floor open to public was ultra modern in design. This museum covers the evolution of the architecture, history of various ethnic groups which inhabited Taiwan, their tools, geological history and of minerals, conservation, and bio diversity of animal life on this island. Land Bank of Taiwan covers the history of banking on this island and how it evolved, along with the legal system and land ownership. This building is old and just as grand as the one across the street in Peace Park. Within this second building, are taxidermied displays of the animals and birds of Taiwan. Taiwan has 684 species of birds, so they showed only some on a wall. More amazingly, there is a massive dinosaur bone display, even petrified dinosaur eggs. At one end, a lecturer was explaining things to a group in Mandarin. A coffee shop/restaurant is on top level and opens onto a nice garden area with tables & chairs. You can order meals here. I enjoyed the dinosaur display as I do not have one in my home city of Vancouver, Canada. It is a really impressive dinosaur display, not to be missed.

Taipei Guest House

Reviewed By 619jeffry - Essendon, Australia

When the term "guest house" is used, many Western visitors assume it's a slightly down-at-heal residential hotel at the sea-side. Nothing could be further than the truth. The Taipei Guest House dates from the Japanese colonial era; it's a magnificent structure; it's used to house visiting VIPs and host civic receptions. I have been invited to attend several receptions at the Taipei Guest House, most recently to be introduced to Tsai Ing-wen, president of the Republic of China. It's certainly a prime example of Taiwanese craftsmanship of which the people of the island are rightly proud .

Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall Park

Reviewed By 619je - Keysborough, Australia

The Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall resembles the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. The Park, however, is quite unique. It is a park in traditional Chinese style. Apart from the gardens, it has a wall with Chinese windows. You will often see elderly Chinese men with caged songbirds. It's quite common to see old men playing traditional Chinese musical insruments together. By the way, the basement area of the CKS Hall has some interesting souvenir shops and some traditional Chinese restaurants.
