Just a short walk from home this is a fantastic location for leisure visits for all the family. Lots of trails for all and just fantastic views, the choice of entry routes is endless, we often walk along the canal and then into seven springs before heading to Marquis Drive or Birches Valley, just the tip of what this area has to offer

Whilst there is plenty of exhibits for visitors to admire in this free museum as a carpenter/joiner and latterly building surveyor I was fascinated at the construction of this hewn English oak timber framed building.

Come and ride on a narrow gauge steam train in Staffordshire. Amerton Railway is a volunteer-run charity based just outside Stafford at Amerton Farm and is a great family day out.

The Dick Whittington A Rock ‘N’ Roll Panto was fantastic! It was my first pantomime and I was told not to expect much. I was so impressed!! All the cast members were extremely talented, dancing, singing and even playing multiple instruments. The show went by so fast because every act had our attention. The Stafford Gatehouse Theatre hosts so many good acts. It’s a great venue. There isn’t a bad seat in the building. We will definitely be back.

Great house with interesting history of the place Charles 2nd hid after the battle of Worcester- you can see the priest holes , house ,garden ,famous Royal Oak -daisy our tour guide made the visit - fabulous informative, humorous and really added to the visit - soooo much better than leaflets ,having to read signs, audio tours etc as she pointed out so many things you would ordinarily miss -wish other historical places would take note. Lovely croquet and skipping games outside which my 7 yr old appreciated -tea room great too !

Beautiful church with much of interest. I had a look round and was on my way out when a gentleman asked if I had seen the green men. He took me round and showed them all to me. Also had a nice chat to the warden. Second time I had come across wonderful Staffs hospitality and the warmth of the people. A very special church.

Travelled from Leeds. Was staying with family in Lichfield and looking for something to do with 3 children under 12. Came across an offer for here on Groupon. Paid £8 for entry for all 4 of us but after having visited yesterday, I'd have happily paid the full price of £16 all day long. Thought we'd only spend a couple of hours here but ended up staying the full day! What a great place for the rescued animals. Such a mixture of different animals to see too. They all seem very well looked after. My daughter and nephews even got to stroke a skunk, touch a snake and a tortoise! Their personal favourites were the wolf hybrids Saxon and Rain and my 18 month old nephew was obsessed with the tortoise and kept following him around his pen! All the staff were very friendly and great with the children. As well as the animals, there's a little play park, picnic area, mini golf area and mini train, where the very friendly train driver let my nephew sit in the front and pretend he was driving the train. Made his day! The food from the cafe in the garden centre is delicious too. Overall, had a great day and will definitely return next time we're back down this neck of the woods. For all the staff here, keep up the good work! Would highly recommend.
